OpenAI committed felony hacking. That's what happened. The media is conditioned to just publish whatever a tech executive of PR person says as though it is fact. It's very sad, very stupid, and quite possibly (in the case of @npr.org, @wbez.org, and @chicago.suntimes.com) bought off/corrupt.
