I absolutely love #Lucifer 's sass in this scene. It took him less than 20 seconds to ragebait #Vox (and later we literally see that he succeeded once Vox is alone). If #Alastor wasn’t in love before that, he should’ve proposed to the king on the spot after witnessing this. #hazbinhotel

You know what stands out the most to me in this #Radioapple interaction? #Lucifer was just standing there, minding his own busines. #Alastor was the one who walked up to him. Alastor chose to approach him first. He started poking at Lu, provoking him, entirely on his own initiative.

He wasn’t there for most of her life. He likely carries that guilt constantly. He sees himself as someone who lost the right to raise her, to correct her, to even push back. And that alone puts him in an incredibly vulnerable position.

Lu doesn’t rub her mistakes in her face. He doesn’t make her feel worse. He lifts her up. He helps her stand, shake it off, breathe again. He reminds her: she chose this path, and there’s still so much left to do. Guilt and grief won’t help - but determination will. He becomes her strongest support.

In S1 finale the battle with the angels ends in victory, but it’s bitter. There’s loss, destruction, Sir Pentious dies and it all crushes Charlie.

She yells at him publicly in front of sinners and angels who once cast him out. Then again in the hotel. She doesn’t listen, doesn’t realize it would’ve ended the same either way. Yes, she lashes out at Vaggie too, but quickly makes up with her.

Then Vox does his usual: twists reality, edits the narrative, paints Lu as a monster and himself as the victim. Charlie has seen this tactic before. And still she turns on her father. No questions or understanding. Just: he ruined everything, embarrassed her, while she had control (she didn’t).

Now the Lucifer vs Vox moment. Lucifer didn’t want to get involved. Even knowing Vox was insulting Charlie, he refused. He had to be pushed - and yes, Vaggie used Alastor to get him there. She meant well, but the point is: Lucifer had to be convinced.

And in the finale, when Charlie blames herself? Lucifer is her first and strongest support. He lifts her up, tells her she’s strong, that she’ll get through this, that he’s proud of her. He rebuilds the hotel for her. He stays with her.

Lucifer is along and he lost his daughter. I doubt it was his choice. And he likely believed it was for the best, that she’d be better off without him. Especially considering his depression. Yes, there are family portraits from later. But those were from the pilot and the story clearly evolved.

Then Lilith appears and the whole mood shifts. There’s a coldness to it. This doesn’t feel like a simple “goodnight, see you tomorrow.” It feels like something… heavier. She takes Charlie but doesn’t touch Lucifer. No warmth, no affection. Because this scene isn’t literal, it’s a memory.

That scene where Charlie sneaks in to hear his stories? It’s my favorite in S1. For many it’s just cute. For me, it’s painfully lonely. Lucifer is sitting alone in his workshop. Charlie shows up and he lights up. He’s genuinely happy, ready to spend hours with her, telling stories.
