It's still early days, but if I had two pick out two cars that caught the eye it would be the McLaren up front and the Williams in the midfield pack. Despite Norris highlighting the rear-end limitation, the car has looked user-friendly, while the Williams is sometimes tricky but usually looked good

What's my laptop wallpaper today? It's Gabriele Tarquini in action for Coloni in 1988. This shot from XPB gives a great view of his distinctive 'spiderman' helmet design, chosen, quite simply, because in his youth he was a big fan of spiderman cartoons and comic books

Never has a real F1 car had a livery that so screamed 'cheap, unlicensed generic single-seater 1:43 scale model for sale in a petrol station' than this one

What's my laptop wallpaper today? It's one of my favourite bad F1 cars, the Lola T93/30 run by Scuderia Italia in 1993. For further reading, I recommend the book 'The Modern Formula 1 Race Car'. Massively rushed and ludicrously light on aero development, this car never had a chance

What's my laptop wallpaper today? It's Stefano Modena in the 1988 Eurobrun. He turned down an offer of a McLaren test role for 1988 that would also have given him a race seat in Japanese F3000 because he wanted to race on in F1 after making his debut in the Australian Grand Prix at the end of '87

On Dino Beganovic’s Ferrari #F1 test - which the team has deliberately not shared pictures of or public information about, at least for now: www.the-race.com/formula-1/th...

Lewis Hamilton’s secretive second test is not Ferrari’s only Formula 1 driver activity that it wanted to keep behind closed doors this week

Having mentioned this race on a podcast recently (I've completely forgotten which one), absolutely delighted to discover this recent upload of coverage of the 1980 Australian Grand Prix at Calder, a race I've always had an inexplicable interest in www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnUX...

This is a sensible move. It is a fundamental of sporting integrity that you should not have what are effectively referees in any sport working for a betting company. I don't for one moment believe Herbert let it influence him, but that's not the point www.the-race.com/formula-1/jo...

Ex-Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert will no longer serve as an FIA steward because it is “incompatible” with his continuing media work

Well, we're hoping to go further afield in the future and maybe we'll be able to put one on in Australia at some point. Although I appreciate Australia is fairly big so that doesn't necessarily help!
