This - via Murray Stahl - is spot on. I've had to confront this problem many times. If you are actively raising money, you can fade the concentration, but if not, this becomes a problem. Few clients will tolerate what it takes to maximize the results of a monster compounder. That's what PAs are for.

Character matters. Tell the truth. Be accountable. Keep your word. Don't complain. Don't blame. Do more than is asked. Don't punch down. Keep a secret. Respect the rules. Be kind. Everything, literally everything, is downstream of that.

This is a great story. I have known so many people who fit the mold of the anonymously affluent; it's a vast cohort. Super smart, common-sense people who have ground it out to build something. www.wsj.com/business/ent...

The topic on almost all the podcasts in my queue is AI doom. Cable news shows are carrying daily segments on the subject. The end of the world is becoming very consensus.

I'm pro-growth and, on balance, an AI optimist. However, this is the line around which rivals must coalesce to prevent it from being crossed.

Renaming shit is a filter. A test. Call it unserious, but its purpose is to identify who complies and who resists. It's an old game on the ledger of corrupted societies.
