It’s time to Pokémon Go-to-the-Polls

Ok so if you’re like me, and you occasionally watch episodes of “House Hunters”, but only the ones with gay guys based on the thumbnail… you can imagine my devastation when I learned this was actually a father/son episode.

Not a great game, but one of the most badass NES box arts!

Discerning gamers looking for spooky titles this October, I have 2 high recommendations. “Dagon” is an immersive visual journey through Lovecraft’s story - gave me near-constant goosebumps. “The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow” is full of mounting dread, superb writing, and a horrific, haunting ending.

Happy Anniversary to Undertale! One of my favorite videogames ever... So I drew a little something for the occasion. 🎉🥧❤️

My drawing of multiple Undertale characters celebrating the game's anniversary. Frisk holds a giant pie that Toriel made while their friends pose behind them happily. (Mostly) Everyone is wearing party hats and smiles!

Am I crazy for considering to learn to change the oil in my car by myself? Can gay guys do stuff like that?

Aww. 6 years ago we found out our hot neighbor was gay 😳 We became fast friends and tried our best to seduce him, but he never accepted. Sadly he moved away about a year later. He’ll never know what he missed out on! But I saved this text he sent us early one morning when we had our windows open. 🥰

Alundra (1998, PS1) Rating: 9/10 Truly challenging. Will test your patience and reflexes. Deceptively massive world and dungeons. Devilishly tough puzzles. Remains one of the very best Zelda-like games out there. Quite a somber tale for 1998, full of death and tragedy. Would love a modern remake!

I FINISHED ALUNDRA. Review coming soon. After essentially soft-locking myself in my first playthrough (40+ hrs), I started a new game 😮‍💨 And around 25hrs later I rolled credits. On this second playthrough, I kept track of how many characters die. My tally was 24 villagers. This game is bleak AF. ⚰️⚰️⚰️⚰️

TMI update: I had a colonoscopy today. 😳 Just a routine screening now that I’m 45. The procedure was easy enough, and no signs of any concerns, which is comforting to know! But man the last 2 days prepping were physically demamding and tiring, even by gay standards. Make sure you have nowhere to be!

I’ve sunk 40+ hours into “Alundra” - my first full playthrough since 1998 - and I may be at a point I can’t continue. Stuck on a VERY difficult late-game boss and I’m unable to go back and stock up on items/gear. No backup save file from earlier progress. I might try again tomorrow, but for now… ✌️

The “Undertale” symphony was an amazing experience. It was honestly really emotional seeing & hearing the shared love for this endlessly creative, funny, and moving game. I heard there was a NieR concert in Chicago last night too! Discerning gamers had tough choices to make, but I’m happy with mine!

✨NiGHTS Into Dreams✨ released 30 years ago SEGA Saturn needs more love on Bluesky in general, but this game is just so unique, colorful, fun, and joyous that I feel like it's something we need more of right now. There's nothing like it. Games like NiGHTS should always be celebrated. Go play it!

Saw Teenage Sex & Death at Camp Miasma! It was one of my most anticipated movies of the the year and it did not dissapoint. My crush on Gillian Anderson remains as strong as ever. And Jane Schoenbrun - one day I’d like to just shake their hand. Just such a huge fan. Go see it on the big screen!

Man, I wish we could get more Working Designs games remastered. I’m playing through “Alundra” (again) and it’s still so good, but a little bit of modern day polish (and analog stick controls!) would certainly draw a new crowd towards this deserving title.

Tonight I got to meet the radiant Ellen Greene (Audrey from “Little Shop of Horrors”) and she said she loved my hair. 😍🫣 She was incredibly sweet, gave us big hugs, sang a wonderful performance of “Somewhere That’s Green”, and gave an insightful Q&A full of vulnerability, humor, and wisdom.
