I’m asking the Senator to vote NO on SB 1632 and SB 1634.
Giving a few people the power to make terrorism designations behind closed doors, and then conceal the reason for the designation is constitutionally wrong. On top of that, SB 1632 is so badly written and vague that it will surely be abused.
These bills create a dangerous power that could easily be turned against churches, nonprofits, groups like the NRA or planned parenthood, or any group that’s politically out of favor.
There are ALREADY Florida laws in place to make sure that no foreign law is used over American law, and terrorism designations are a federal responsibility.
I oppose SB 1632 and 1634 because I know, just as you do, how easily this can be politicized and abused. I am asking the Senator to VOTE NO.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:o6ibcyo3e33mtex3ewntxtll/bafkreicoe7huwkw3hxnalrovgclqnv2236lpet5wqowdbt6ll3awsxhh5m)
