I’m glad to see the protests went off yesterday with no violence. Thats how America is supposed to work. Protest all you want folks, but do it peacefully. It’s the American way.

Blocking people because they said something about bitcoin that you don’t agree with is the surest way to stay ignorant. Some people aggressively run from the truth, preferring comfort instead. It’s insane.

Looks like some people are finally letting go of the “bitcoin has no value“ trope. It’s about time. Now they’re stuck in the “bitcoin is only good for [insert paranoid bad thing]” trope. In time the’ll realize that’s false as well.

I'm back. I was troubled by Charlie Kirk's assassination and liked the idea of open dialog between people of different views, which he championed. I underestimated how much vitriol his name inspired. I don't defend Charlie and that was never my intention. So Dad's Advice is back.

The levels of ignorance and distrust about bitcoin on this site are really remarkable. It's not hurting bitcoin, but it's certainly hurting that segment of liberals that feel this way. All we can do is keep trying to educate and explain.

The Tylenol announcement is a litmus test. Reality: a cautious, incremental label change that brings the U.S. a bit closer to Europe’s more precautionary stance. Politics: loud, polarized reactions on both sides. If you're outraged, and can’t separate reality from politics, you failed the test.

A common misconception among people that don’t understand bitcoin is that people buy it, hoping to sell later for more dollars. After all, that’s what THEY (as people that don’t understand bitcoin) would do. In reality, most people who DO understand bitcoin never plan to sell for dollars, period.

There’s a myth that still lives on BlueSky, that bitcoin is only good for crime. In fact the opposite is true, the only thing bitcoin ISN‘T good for is crime. Asking for a bribe in bitcoin is like saying, “give me a suitcase full of money, but also put a permanent GPS tracker in it!” Read this:

That's dramatic. I was curious and chatted with ChatGPT. From my chat: - It's real, not seasonality - Mostly (60%) due to policy/incentive changes in France and Germany - Partly (30%) due to competition (BYD, MG, VW, Stellantis) - Other factors (10%) eg delivery lumpiness, brand sentiment/politics

Bitcoin gives humanity a form of money that no government or institution can debase, seize, or censor. It protects the fundamental human rights of economic sovereignty and freedom to transact It will benefit 5.7 billion people (72% of the world) who live under authoritarianism It's already begun.

Many people don't understand that Satoshi wrote a protocol that no one, no corporation, no government, no person or group of people, NOT EVEN HIMSELF (themselves) can control. It belongs to the human race. It just "is". It can't be stopped. Humans are adopting it. There's no one "behind" it.

Dad's Advice @echowander.bsky.social · 14/05/2025
You guys don't seem to get it. Demanding a bribe in bitcoin is like saying: "Give me a suitcase of unmarked $100 bills - and make sure you put a GPS tracker in it!"

It's true. I've become intolerant of fucking idiots that still think bitcoin is a "scam", or "tulips", or that some shitcoin is "a bitcoin", or any of the other absolute IDIOCY that passes for bitcoin knowledge on this site. It's 2025. It's no longer excusable to be this ignorant about bitcoin.

Consider BluSky block as a tool for reinforcing your myopic views. Want to learn something? Don't. A different point of view? Avoid. Someone likes something that you don't? Label. Receive the world with empathy? Never. Have no answer to someone's argument? Denigrate. Open your mind? lol, No.

Dad's Advice @echowander.bsky.social · 12/05/2025
Bitcoin is here to stay. That argument is over. The only question remaining is, when are you going to finally take the time to learn about it?

As bad as the bitcoin ignorance is on this site, the bitcoin scam shit is worse. I scroll past it because it’s so obviously a scam to me but it just struck me - if I was as ignorant as the average BlueSky user seems to be about bitcoin I might actually fall for this shit. Be careful out there kids

Get used to watching bitcoin go up. It’s going to go up for the rest of your life, or until governments stop printing money, whichever comes first. (Hint: it won’t be the second one)

Many (most?) BlueSky users have a primitive, superstitious fear of Bitcoin, because they don’t fully understand it, and it threatens existing structures or beliefs. This fear makes them susceptible to lies, misperceptions and outlandish beliefs about sinister conspiracies and crime. It’s madness.

Many people think bitcoin is controlled by whales that will hoard the coins. But bitcoin isn't like fiat money that can make money without being spent and thus the rich get richer. Bitcoin can only be enjoyed by spending it. And spend it they will. This whale sold coins to go on a space ride.

Dad's Advice @echowander.bsky.social · 01/04/2025
Many people fear bitcoin because they think it’s controlled by whales or insiders. And why wouldn’t they? All money has always been that way. The US dollar is that way right now. But bitcoin is different. It’s purpose-built to NOT be controllable by anyone. It’s freedom money for the little guy.

A lot of people look at the way bitcoin is gaining global adoption and think. "this makes no sense". That's because they're operating from a set of beliefs about bitcoin that are completely false. Bitcoin's adoption does make sense, it's the beliefs that make no sense. It's time to revisit them.

Liberals, Please, for the love of God, learn the difference between bitcoin and alts. Bitcoin is a decentralized, censorship-resistant, mathematically sound, and emerging as an important asset in the global economy, while all other altcoins are centralized, manipulative, scams. Not the same. Thx

When the CPI prints high, the bitcoin price drops as markets anticipate fewer rate cuts and less liquidity. Bitcoin is a hard asset hedge against inflation, and the market is still treating bitcoin as a risk asset. We are so early.

No matter which side of the aisle you’re on, there’s a very simple, compelling narrative that incriminates the other side for their actions in causing the California fires. And no matter which simple narrative you subscribe to, you’re wrong. It’s complex beyond our grasp to fully understand it.
