reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 02/10/2026it actually literally is an intimidation tactic! it sends a message! like vik mentioned there's a twitter account that tweets mr scores every day. in fact this is just one of a number of third parties who collect score data for gw, you might know of gbfdata but there's a number of others 010
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I think "it's fun" is also a contributor here though lmao 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 02/10/2026adding to what vik said, it's one of the only "competitive" activities that doesn't require you to play for 17 hours (overall rank). I think rush crews are often considered to be advantageous for getting round wins too? especially for mr, where you can explode the enemy and then peace out 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 01/10/2026in theory you can use 2 but I do kinda feel like even 1 is a meme right now 010
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026cajun's attenuation document is really funny too gbf.wiki/User:Cajunwi...gbf.wikiUser:Cajunwildcat/Skill Attenuation 000
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I thiiiink cajun and gamewith both usually report caps as the point where you hit the final attenuation bracket. but gamewith can vary or report the wrong thing sometimes lol but yes there's some more wrinkles about how skill cap is applied! the wiki damage cap page explains in better than me 200
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026postscript: in addition to raw, the base mod of a skill affects its skill damage hardcap (which I sometimes call mjolnir or oro cap, since it was implemented in response to the mjolnir/orologia incident). In practice, it's hard to reach mjolnir cap, but it does come up sometimes! 220
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026anyway. obviously this depends a lot on the exact amount of skill cap up and raw you have. a character with huge personal raw may not care even if their mod ratio is horrible. so take this with a grain of salt, always test yourself, etc etc etc 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026unclear what they were thinking with this one. (I think it's a reference to her og ssr's s1, which is 250-300% mod, 630k cap) 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026katzelia's ougi nuke also has this kind of mod profile (165k / 100%). as a magna player, the lack of raw is surprisingly noticeable (or maybe I'm coping, ymmv). it is better now that we've moved away from the low raw old-style unboosted sette grids, though 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026atum's ougi nuke and s1 have the same mod profile as sandira. however, he has a fairly bad mod profile on his ougi chaser - ~160k base cap / 100% mod. he Does have a chunk of raw from his passive, but it's actually surprisingly hard to cap before that comes online (iykyk) 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026some examples: sandira's ougi nuke has 80k base cap / 100% mod. sandira's s1 has 102.5k base cap / 100% mod. she has a relatively easy time capping, and I won't worry about her skill raw too much, even with 10-20% skill dmg down 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026the raw skill damage is then attenuated based on the skill's overall cap. as a rule of thumb, I usually expect about 100% mod for every 100k base cap. most modern characters have mod ratios of around 80-120k base cap per 100% mod, and within that range I don't worry about it very much. 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026as a quick primer: raw skill damage is computed from the skill modifier and your attack (including might, stamina, perp, etc). with exactly one exception you will Never run into, skill modifier buffs/debuffs are all additive to the base mod. (this means they matter less when the base mod is large) 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 30/09/2026people often assume that skills always cap. this is... actually just not true, though in general you'll hit diminishing returns on adding more raw to skill damage faster than you'll hit diminishing returns on autos. but I think it's useful to know how to read skill mods, so here's a small(?) ramble 140
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I think almost every gbf player I consider "good" would agree with this tbh 110
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 27/09/2026this is possibly the least motivated to manual gw I have ever been but it's been fun to play with bnuy and caesar and rat and SONG. I'm glad they had a chance to shine for me! 040
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 26/09/2026last year mahira sack was the fastest and they have a weak tendency to counter stuff that's overwhelmingly good the previous year 120

reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 21/09/2026also this may or may not be short on damage to get the kill (tbd) but even 85-90% the damage of primal is still pretty respectable I think 030
reverie @echostringrites.bsky.social · 21/09/2026testing odious (my befoulments are still extremely scuffed, we'll fix that After gw) getting to g100 first try is... not bad? but it is definitely extremely noticeably worse than primal. obviously. why does only one of these weapons have raw taboo atk cygames 171
