I’ve read a fair bit about Krautrock but never really listened to it I knew John Lydon listened to it but from what I read I imagined it’d be more crystalline like Bowie around Station to Station or early Ultravox - I never thought it’d be funky 😊

The gain is unearned and untaxed though - nobody did anything other than own an asset and see time pass Once we’re past the right wing “but it’s the family home and should be sacrosanct” angle there is zero reason NOT to tax this gain (imho) And it still won’t affect most of us 🤷‍♂️

Unearned gains should be taxed You bought a house It rose in value You died Why shouldn’t that gain be taxed? There are many arguments around the taxation of earnings and investments (personally I’m pro tax fwiw) but there shouldn’t be any argument around taxing unearned gains surely?

ULEZ gets national press coverage despite relatively few people experiencing it Up here since 2023 we CAN’T take non compliant cars into the city without a fine. There’s no fee option And everybody shrugged & got on with complaining about roadworks ULEZ is 100% seen as ammo for the right 🤷‍♂️

Not sure on what personal care actually costs but I fear people are misunderstanding this policy & imagining a care home PLACE will be paid for under the policy I think the proposal is pretty similar to the system we have up here but I could be wrong

A studio flat in outer (very outer) London cost £50k in 1986 I had a decent job & was earning £7900pa Couldn’t afford a mortgage - maximum multiplier was 3x gross salary. I wasn’t even close Had to relocate back home to Glasgow It was probably easier but it was never easy

Encourage them to go to midrange & smaller venues I can still see touring bands around £15-£17 or cheaper in 100-400 capacity venues Once you go bigger than that then pricing goes a bit mental (not for every band tbf) but the experience is miles better in smaller venues anyway
