In her original design she has a white muzzle and white "hair". I feel like they coulda pushed it a little farther here with... I dunno. A mask? Patchy spots? Tabby stripes? I think those might give it a little more "oomph" in terms of design. They can keep the rest.

Can't say I'm necessarily a fan of that take. My brother was hooked on that shit and it did horrible things to him. The "scrappy" and/or "smoker" interpretation is a bit better but, uh... Aside from that, after some contemplation, I think it's just an overall style and markings qualm for me.

I've thought about it a lot and I think it just comes down to (if we're excluding the entire style of the game) I don't like her markings. Or, rather, lack there of. It doesn't have to be a lot. Like a forehead marking or something, then I think I'd feel a bit better.

Wha-- I was not expecting people to like this design at all. Frankly, in my opinion, they could have made her look "scrappy" and "like the boys" without hurting her this bad. I understand not wanting her to be overly feminine but like... This isn't it. (but then again I hate the new style so)

Thank you so much!! That's super sweet of you to say! ;__; It always warms my heart to know that people care about this project. I hope to keep doing it. So far the money isn't great but maybe if I keep going, more people will become interested and support it. We'll have to see!

He was such a jerk for at least a quarter of the game and I wanted to highlight that, among some other things that'll come to light soon. Rareware tried to cover some pretty heavy topics in DP and SFA but didn't do it very good, so I gotta take matters into my own hands!

Nintendo seems to want to sweep Starfox under the rug for some crazy reason and it's so, so sad. It has so much potential. I think they took the SFA criticism to heart, tried to reboot and remake SF64 twice because that's the favorite, and when those failed they gave up. :/

Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I've been dealing with a bunch of stuff irl and haven't had the time to look at Bluesky for a bit. It is a part of Lylat, yes! :D It may seem strange because of the distance from Solar but it'll be addressed in some capacity!

I don't want to fight about it, but it's crazy to me that anyone would think any fictional character has the will to do anything of their own volition and that absolves creators of their gross intentions. It really doesn't. Her final design has one purpose and that's 'girl sexy, also racism'.

Also, characters do not have free will. They are guided solely by the wills of their creators. And in the case of Krystal, she was designed to show as much skin as possible and sell a product via sexual appeal. They knew what they were doing.

I think it's important to realize that Krystal was designed by the same people who gave us overly sexualized female characters like Candy Kong and Berri, as well as racist caricatures like Humba and the entire Lightfoot Tribe. It was not out of pocket for the designers/producers at Rareware.

Thank you for your question! I changed it to get away from the racist undertones and egregious sexualization she's constantly associated with, if I'm being frank. I want to present her as respectfully as possible, you know?
