So what if Makani Moana wasn't a locomotive, but HUMAN? A unique idea that I had a lot of fun translating! #art #digitalart #artistsonbluesky #humanized

Digital art of a train character, Makani Moana, being turned into a human!

You should see Twitter, I get virtually no action there at all :,) but thank you so much

I'll have to try and figure out how to draw them without intense levels of detail, and learn how to market myself more efficiently. What would help in your guys' opinion? Comics? Literature? Let me know what'd get YOU engaged with my characters bc I'm kinda out of ideas. Thanks!

It just sorta sucks that I can't curate an audience for my characters because nobody really gives a toss about them apart from close friends unless the trains are included and that sucks because I don't WANT to start key-jangling. At the same time I recognise not including the vehicles is a problem.

I hate to be that whiny bitch but I kinda hate that my art bombs unless a locomotive is included. That feeling's only been hammered home harder by the fact that my old PC crashes if I try to draw a loco with any degree of detail. I'm not gonna stop trying but it stings pretty hard, y'know?

Echoes ay th' Glen Fact File B: Marcus A bit more about him! The short Scot with a big heart. #art #artistsonbluesky #meetmyocs

A fact file referring to Marcus, with three different digitally drawn poses of him rushing into action, smiling and enjoying a spam musubi a bit too much. The information goes as such:

Ethnicity: Scottish.
Age: 22
Height: 5'6"
Gender: Male.
Temperament: Kind, enthusiastic.
Weapons: "Y'what?"
Role: Man with the plan.

Marcus is a mechanic from the north of Scotland who was roped into Sefina's story by complete happenstance!

With a tendency for overworking with no regard for himself, Marcus was forcibly sent on a Hawaiian holiday by his sister in the hopes it would help him blow off some steam.

Marcus, who hated the idea of being a layabout, decided to help save some steam instead!

The morning before he left for Hawai'i, Marcus was approached by the new Calcots & Dores Railway Preservation Society and told to keep an eye out for a locomotive they nicknamed 'The Lost Legend.'

Next thing Marcus knew, he was being held at wrench-point in a dingy old railway shed on the island of Kaua'i by a very, VERY angry Hawaiian...!

Those engines were part of the reason any of the lore here exists to begin with, it's an awful shame. A tale of greed and selfishness, both from the land developers that pushed the railway out, and the owner of the railway itself. Anaka and Myrtle specifically inspired my 2-4-0 (wip) Leilani.

Echoes ay th' Glen Fact File A: Sefina. Here's a bit more about her! The 6'5" powerhouse herself. #art #artistsonbluesky #meetmyocs

A fact file referring to Sefina, with three different digitally drawn poses of her in anger, leaping with her spear, and looking sceptical. The information goes as such:

Ethnicity: Samoan-Hawaiian.
Age: 22
Height: 6'5"
Gender: Māhū, or third gender.
Temperament: Short, prideful.
Weapons: Recurve bow, spear, fire knives.
Role: Moana's guardian, historian.

Sefina is a Native Hawaiian attempting to do it all. She works all day and most of the night scraping up every penny for just one goal; saving an old sugar train from destruction.

This relentless tenacity of hers is a double edged spear; for years she has become more and more isolated, sinking further into despair as the tourist-centric future of Hawai'i knocks on her door: Condos. Hotels. Golf courses. It means the destruction of what remains of the Hanalei Railway. It means the elimination of No.4, Makani Moana.

Her surname, Kaiwi, means 'keeper of the bones.' Those bones are being maliciously burned.
It's 1975.
She's running out of patience, money and time.

Can she protect her Legend's legacy?

I have met, I think, 7 trans folks in my 62 years. Perhaps more. But the 7 I know (in person, quite a few more online) All of them are lovely, caring people who deserve respect & love. If you don't believe that unconditionally, you are the problem, not them.

Meme drawing of characters Marcus and Sefina in bed. Sefina asks what Marcus plans to do next. Marcus has absolutely no idea what he's doing.

A bit of both I'd say! I reckon it highly depends on the engine and how close to humanity they are socially. Bia, for example, is a highly social engine from what I gather! Thank you very much!
