Having just lived through evacuations from both the Bug and Hawk fires here, I can attest to that. Firefighters working in 90 degree heat with 50+ pound packs in terrain you almost cannot walk through..... they are HEROS.

Evac'd during the Bug fire. Stuck in Reno last Saturday night. Every hotel room between Reno and Gardnerville was booked up, we ended up in the Reno Convention Center Shelter overnight. Not fun. At least now we have good defensible space. This is now our front yard (Bug).

A view of the 3000 foot Petersen Mountain the day after the Bug Fire passed through. Entire mountainside is burned off, down to the dirt road on the other side of our driveway.

Well. Having just been evacuated and returned home from the Bug/Fred Mountain fires north of Reno, NV, I'm gonna say I'd just as soon (bang) the perps. My property is fine, it just burned everything else down to my driveway.

Haven't been here the last couple of days. Been dealing with this instead. I live in Rancho Haven. We were evac'd. Our property is OK BECAUSE OF THESE GUYS. When you hear somebody bad mouth the government, or 'socialism' - they are also badmouthing this. STFU. My property from 4 miles away.
