I’m so sorry. May her memory be eternal.
Photo of a roadrunner standing still behind a prickly pear cactus, a golf course and more distant desert and mountains behind it. The bird is close; you can see its head and long tail feathers. It’s looking slightly up to the left. You can almost imagine it planning to foil any nearby coyote foes. Beep beep.

My favorite picture of Speaker Pelosi. Carrying the gavel that was used when Medicare was passed and making sure it was used when the ACA/Obamacare was passed. An exceptional talent. Thank you, Madam Speaker.
Speaker Pelosi walking, with linked arms, with Congressmen John Lewis, Steny Hoyer, and Senator Ted Kennedy to pass the ACA. Their Democratic colleagues are behind them; it looks like a Civil Rights march. She’s carrying the large gavel used to pass Medicare.

Man and a woman in the 1960s. They’re in a simple office. She has her coat on still and has blonde, teased hair, holding a script. He’s sharply dressed in a 3-piece suit, no jacket, hair surprising ruffled. He’s studying a clipboard. A screen still from the British TV show Funny Woman.

Is this a good economic indicator?

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers. #BookSky💙📚 #Books #BookChallenge 3/20 The whole series, really; especially these 3:
Book cover. Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. A young girl, with red pigtails, wears a straw sun hat pushed back off her face. She’s wearing a clean, faded dress from the 1900s (decade) with a light blue, faded pinafore over. She’s sitting on a wooden bench by a train station. She’s sitting up very straight, waiting expectantly; nervous but determined to be confident. She’s clutching a brown tapestry that covers her lap. It contains everything she owns. Book cover. Anne of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery. Two young girls sit on a grey stone bridge by a pond, reading from the same book. One is a redhead with a simple orange-pink dress with white lace trim and dark boots, the other dark-haired, with a dark yellow dress and white collar and decorative trim. The rest of the cover is faded green trees and purple and red flowers by the pond. A cheerful cover. Book cover. Anne of the Island by L.M. Montgomery. The young woman is the same as in the other two titles but she’s older now. Her dark red hair is pinned up, she’s wearing a long, pink, turn-of-the-century dress and holding her straw hat. She’s turned away from a young man who sits on a stone wall, turned towards her. She’s wearing looks pensive; they both look serious. They’re outside, and the edge of the island appears at a distance behind them. The other text at the top of the cover: “The most beloved, beguiling and timeless heroine in all of fiction.”

Book cover. A young white girl with light blond short hair in a blue-tinged black and white image on a black background. She’s wearing a smocked dress with small lace trim around the collar. She looks pensive and a little sad. It’s an older look that fits in the 1930s/40s. On the left-hand side is a delicate gold Star of David necklace that is on top and fills the left-hand side. In the same gold color is the title and author: Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. On the upper right-hand side is the image of the Newbury Medal the book won in 1989. The book cover is trimmed in red for the publisher, Yearling Newbery.

Book cover. Young girl in a red short-sleeve dress, brown messy hair pulled back in a ponytail, calmly holding a nervous-looking small pig, surrounded by a goose and a sheep. They’re all looking at a spider who’s dropped down from her web above. The web is interlaced with the title, Charlotte’s Web. The other words on the cover: by E.B. White, author of Stuart Little, Pictures by Garth Williams
