Young people try to escape from the fear of death using perceived novelty that makes them feel like they have a different future than the old and dying, while the old try to escape into their own pasts and run away from the ever-encroaching death the future holds for them with nostalgia.

When the president appoints members of his cabinet like he's looking for contestants on his reality show, you get an incompetent drunk more worried about his makeup and saying "controversial" things for the cameras than actually doing his job. Vote for a reality TV host, and you get the cesspool.

The quality of Texas's higher education system is basically non-existent, especially outside of STEM fields. Even in STEM fields, you only get the axiomatic education that makes you into a good little worker for some tech billionaire. The law programs are as pathetic as they are dogmatic.

4) REMEMBER! If the Democrats and Democratic Socialists *do* get elected, everything Trump did isn't going to be magically solved. Don't pretend like they have to immediately fix everything he broke exactly how you want or else "they had their chance" and don't deserve support in the next election.

In fact, their base is more than happy to believe the people who don't support Bibi and criticize the Republicans for their support of Bibi's actions are anti-Jewish and, therefore, the "real" Nazis. Bibi is their token who "proves" that no matter how fascistic they get, they can't be fascists.

Right wingers have worked very hard over the last decade to keep Bibi in power *because* he has fascistic tendencies. Republicans can defend their support for fascism by saying they support Jews, when all they actually support is Bibi. Their base will still believe that means they can't be fascists.

If we stopped letting certain macroeconomists pretend that plutocracy and aristocracy are "capitalism" and that turning the power of government back over to such entities is "privatization," maybe we could actually understand what's going on. Instead, we live in the shadow of Friedman and his ilk.

Is this part of Trump's "hard on Russia" narrative before the election? I know they passed that bill letting him arbitrarily tariff the EU up to 100% to virtue signal "sanctioning Russia," so I'm guessing the feel the need to show Trump's "strength" despite being unable to do anything against Iran.

Wait, Chipotle, the company that for years was regularly in the news for their food safety violations even before Trump gutted the agencies, is going to work with the AI spy company to make a "platform" designed to regulate their own food safety? That's like putting foxes in charge of chickens.

He doesn't care about that. They know that any attempt to stop them in court will take months and can easily be dragged out until after the election. He's going to do anything and everything until then, just like the last election, and then it's mass-pardons and dropped cases again if he wins.

Sooo... all the ones who aren't willing to keep spreading some version of the regime's propaganda. He ignored all the "liberal" outlets who have decided "unbiased" means constantly lecturing "the Left" and convincing people that no matter how bad Trump is, liberals and Democrats are always worse.

That might be the case, if it was not for the fact that Wharton has similarly incompetent selection criteria when it comes to their professors and administrators, and even those at the top of the class tend to be little more than well-trained pseudo-scientists and propagandists.

You may also notice that every time they put together some panel to get AI "under control," what they actually focus on is making sure the AI companies and their customers can control the "sentient" AI, while the question of controlling what the companies and customers do with it is ignored.

Yeah. This has been a very purposeful aspect of the propaganda since before the new generation of chatbots and algorithms was released. Tech bros hit the media hard with pseudo-intellectuals using the debate as an excuse to peddle their pet Theory of the Mind and talking about science fiction AI.

Something I have noticed about schools like Columbia, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and especially Yale (among others) is that they tend to prize exclusivity but not merit. They are very selective; they just don't select primarily on the basis of competence, especially in non-STEM fields.

No, they're promoting MAHA, which defines "healthy eating" as following the advice of those "Wellness" gurus who are constantly getting their followers sick with bad dietary advice. They like the deregulation of the food industry that MAHA is actually about behind the "Wellness" veneer.

Your inability to do a simple Google search even to this day just further demonstrates how Hasan fans are not actually politically informed. You just learn all the latest drama and memorize the fashionable talking points, because you spend your time watching the equivalent of a tabloid magazine.

Trump enabled Israel's genocide. Hasan enabled Israel's genocide by helping him get elected. Hasan then went on to enable the genocide of the Uyghur Muslims by spreading a bunch of pro-China propaganda shortly after the election. You have no moral superiority to stand on, just false absolutism.

While I don't claim to be her biggest fan, pretending Kamala wasn't offering tangible policy proposals is rather proving my point that Hasan and his community used culture war talking points to distract from the actual policy and convince people to "punish the Dems" in the last election. I remember.

MAGA and Bezos *love* promoting Hasan, because he was one of the leading voices telling liberals and democrats to avoid going to the polls in 2024 under the false auspices that it would somehow be good for Gaza. They're hoping for his help in the coming election, too.

Yet, his own company continues to develop AI in terrible ways without much concern for the effects. These CEOs want the good press of being the “concerned” AI company without actually being concerned with anything other than slowing down their competitors so their own company can profit.

If you find the only way to defend your political views is to pretend there's a rule stating no one is allowed to apply rational judgment to you and your politics, then your views are the problem, not the judgments. Critical thinking is not victimization just because you don't like to be wrong.

It's made all the more ridiculous by the fact most of the wealth is stock market funny money. Musk's "performance" target was just his ability to manipulate the market into over-valuing yet another business that will end up getting bought out by his next start-up to rollover the Ponzi scheme again.

So "state's rights" led to the state not actually having the money to fill in the gap, and rather than support the federal systems put in place for precisely this reason, the state blamed the local government. Funny how "state's rights" and Dillon's Rule seem to interact with these state politicians

I think I figured it out: the right wing became deeply obsessed with "saving Christmas" from "Happy Holidays" and "Season's Greetings" due to lacking creativity. They tied the 17th century English Restoration Comedy propaganda about saving Christmas from democracy into their racialist propaganda.
