Lots of Forest based Art work has resulted in several ‘Silver Birch’ works. Nature abstracted and the energy of the essence of Nature itself. Pollock referred to ‘ energy and motion made visible ‘ which is relevant to my thoughts. So we have EC202 ‘Silver Birch #6’ #art #forest #landscape #prints

Abstracted and simplified forest sketch featuring Silver Birches and various tones of green. Silver Birch trees in a forest, suggestive of shadows, depth and movement.

walking in morning light across fields and being caught in a shower of rain. A total involvement in everything. A pictorial Poem to convey the experience of ‘Qiyan’ a Daoist aesthetic. Everything seemed to be moving and changing. So we have EC 167 ‘Summer Rain’ #art #dao #landscape #prints

An abstracted landscape composition suggestive of fields, hedgerow , blue sky and light rain. Freely applied colours of pink, blue, and green tones. Very unstructured and full of the energy of the application technique.

Looking at landscape and thinking about the slow geological changes over millennia.Thinking about the artistic ideas of Shizen 自然. I always feel strangely mystical looking at an evening landscape. We humans are in the position of being between placed Heaven and Earth #landscape #art #prints #shizen

An abstracted - free flowing landscape. Foreground of green shapes and tones with a blue sky. The blue having marks and blobs suggestive of the Moon and Stars - A contemplation on geological time and the creative ideas of ‘Shizen’ - which is to say spontaneous creative energy of nature itself.

Head tilted back eyes semi closed as if dreaming. An explosion and swirling of random red based colours, hinting at a bright blue background. The same swirl of colours meld into the composition of the tilted head - creating a connection. Suggestive of deep meditative thought.
One of a series of ‘portrait’ works.
