Probably, but given that I have been reading about 10 pages a year for 15 years (but WHAT pages!) because I erred in buying it in one unwieldy volume, I doubt I'll ever finish. I certainly never remember what, if anything, has happened. Every line is a pleasure in itself, though, so I don't mind.

Just finished a roll of film I put in about 15 months ago. Picking up the camera this month I had no idea of the film speed, whether it was colour or black and white, or any of the other things one really should know. Mercifully I guessed right. Must take these small victories when one can.

Wait, is that a thing? Never come across it. Was always told by my Yorkshire father that pudding was a Sunday roast thing because it padded out the meat which would otherwise be too expensive weekly. Christmas dinner otoh was where you pushed the boat out.

Before I was born, my mother lived in Australia, the most obvious consequence of which was that every window in the house growing up was screened. I am still appalled by the British acceptance of flies in the house, and by the belief that screening makes houses dark (no bad thing this week):
