Those who opposed removal of Confederate monuments, citing erasure of history, should have no problem with a future National Park site at Alligator Alcatraz. Americans need to learn about the human rights violations and how GOP politicians reveled in the prison’s cruelty.

Tick bites resulting in ED visits are 3 times more common this year. 1. Use DEET or picaridin on skin. 2. Wear permethrin-treated clothes. 3. Tuck pants into socks. 4. Check for ticks & remove them right away with tweezers. 5. Shower shortly after hikes. Source: CDC, Katelyn Jetelina

Chart compares Emergency Department (ED) visits for tick bites in 2026 compared with 2022-2025 and it shows there are 3 times more visits in April 2026, 114 per 100,000 ED visits. Tick bite visits usually peak in the summer.

The assassination attempt in Butler was real. Doug Mills, who took the photo of the bullet flying by Trump’s head, won the Pulitzer Prize. Staging a fake attempt: impossible. Secret Service wouldn’t deliberately permit anyone to fire a gun close to a President; they’re dedicated to their mission.

ANOTHER FINE MESS: USA-UGANDA DEHUMANISING "DEPORTATION" AGREEMENT CHALLENGED IN COURT Kampala, Uganda - 2 April 2026: The Uganda Law Society and East Africa Law Society have learnt about an advanced plot to forcibly remove (in the name of deportation) a dozen people from the United States and effectively dump them in Uganda through an undignified, harrowing and dehumanising process that has reduced them into little more than chattel, for the benefit of unnamed, private interests on either side of the Atlantic.
We have been informed that the privately-owned aircraft carrying the deportees is or will soon be airborne and will be touching down at Entebbe International Airport today. Our research indicates that none of the mandated institutions, such as the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, the Parliament of Uganda, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have been engaged regarding this matter. Moreover, no policy document or legislation has been promulgated to stipulate the procedures relevant to the transfer of people from one country to another.Typical of such suspicious arrangements, we have also learnt about private contractors who are falling over themselves to cash in on the suffering of fellow human beings whose crime is to have been arbitrarily deemed as undesirable and as such disposable to the most willing takers, regardless of whatever fate awaits them. This development and the attendant illegalities that accompany it are reminiscent of a dark past that the global family of humanity supposedly put behind itself in pursuit of the ideal that every human being is born equal in dignity and rights.

A day that will live in infamy: the U.S.A. voted against a resolution condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Will GOP politicians condemn this vote or will they stay silent out of cowardice? Or perhaps GOP politicians support Russian tyranny?
