“Rarely has stupidity been so nasty, or nastiness so stupid… In fact, if Frankenstein decided to make a monster assembled entirely from human flaws, he would make a Trump.” – Nate White, 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘯 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴, 2019 Illustration: 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘶𝘴, pen and ink by Dutch artist Siegfried Woldhek, 2019
Pen and ink caricature of Donald Trump titled "Stable Genius" by Dutch artist Siegfried Woldhek, originally published on October 12, 2019, in the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad.

The drawing of a grotesquely snarling Trump features heavy, chaotic cross-hatching and a frantic, wildly expressive aesthetic resembling the eerie, dark illustrations of Stephen Gammell from the “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” book series.

Woldhek, a widely recognized Dutch illustrator and portraitist is known for his sharp political drawings and caricatures of world leaders. The title “Stable Genius” is a mocking reference to a phrase Trump frequently used to describe himself.

Accompanying quote is from a piece entitled “Why Some Brits Detest Trump” by British writer Nate White, originally published in the London Times in 2019.

Read White’s entire piece here. (It’s well worth your time!)

Cartoon by @joeheller.bsky.social
Cartoon by artist Joe Heller titled “The Farm Belt,” depicting a leather belt with a traditional brass buckle.

On the belt buckle are the words “Profit Margins,” and each, tightening hole in the belt in is labeled with a different farming cost factor.

The belt is buckled almost completely tight, with just one hole left to go.

The holes read:

• MISSING MIGRANT HELP

• TRADE WAR MARKET COLLAPSE

• FERTILIZER PRICE HIKES

• BEEF IMPORT PLAN

• DIESEL FUEL INCREASES

The final, remaining hole reads:

• TBA (THE BANKRUPTCY ANNOUNCEMENT)

They were doing drugs, but they were doing the nuclear, but these drug factories, nuclear factories were hit so hard."

“The Godfather of Soul” James Brown (1933 – 2006) performing live for U.S. troops during his USO tour in Vietnam, June 1968 Gripping piece from white Vietnam veteran Tom Miller Juvik (2018): historynet.com/james-brown-...
Black and white stage photo of the legendary James Brown (1933 – 2006) performing live for U.S. troops during his USO tour in Vietnam, June 1968

Known as the "Godfather of Soul" and "the hardest-working man in show business," Brown traveled to South Vietnam with a stripped-down version of his band to support the troops. He performed multiple high-energy concerts a day under grueling, 120°F tropical heat conditions at locations including Long Binh ("The Dirt Bowl") and Tan Son Nhut Air Base amid active combat zones, sniper warnings, and flight dangers.

Brown was one of the first major Black artists to tour Vietnam for the troops, going at his own expense to support minority service members who made up a large portion of the frontline forces.
