That must have been one hell of an awkward request for a photo.

I saw that number, and had to do the math to wrap my head around it! Personally, I'm good at the "push" part, but there not a whole lot of "up" happening. 😀 But almost 1600 in an hour is astounding!

Chuck 🍁 @easytoslip.bsky.social · 11h

Can we talk about that pushup record for a sec? That's 1 pushup every 2.25 seconds for an entire hour... holy crap!

“One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss.” “Which means that Copenhagen, a city of 1.2 million people, saves $357 million/yr on health costs because something like 80% of its population commutes by bike.” Investing in bike infrastructure saves money.

One mile on a bike is a $.42 economic gain to society, one mile driving is a $.20 loss

Copenhagen, the bicycle-friendliest place on the planet, publishes a biannual Bicycle Account, and buried in its pages is a rather astonishing fact.

At least put it on the other side of the guardrail for protection. We've got the same design on a new lane in my city. Except replace the guardrail with a concrete bridge wall.

Fowler and Dobes will be an excellent 1-1a for years to come.

At one point I thought I head him say that the Habs were averaging over 8 goals against this season. It was probably just my rock n' roll hearing, but it definitely sounds like something dumb he *would* say.

Chuck 🍁 @easytoslip.bsky.social · 16h

I think that in combination with Dobes' slow start, he's played himself into being the #1, at least in the short term.

Chuck 🍁 @easytoslip.bsky.social · 16h

I guess that they've got to run with Fowler now.

That's the frustrating part. The exact same play would probably be called differently by a different officiating crew. Or even differently on anonther night by the same crew.

020

He's just trying to show Larkin that there are playing minutes available for him in Montreal. 😀

Frustratingly, all of the Sportsnet broadcast cameras have different colour and contrast ettings. The reds and blues look different on every camera angle. Don't they calibrate their cameras before the game?

000

Additionally, the shot was to the glove side, and any incidental tap to the stick had zero effect of the goalie's ability to stop that puck.

The number of separatists in Alberta is very small, but every single one of them will vote in the separation referendum. It’s critical that everyone who doesn’t want separation votes as well, or else this could easily be Canada’s own Brexit moment. Don’t assume anything. Vote.

In other words, Trump is sending money to Russia which is then being used to finance the arms that Iran is using to target U.S. troops. What's that called again? 🤔

What's their justification for calling this a double minor? Per the rulebook, this is a textbook spear, and should have been penalized accordingly. What's the point of having penalties if the officials aren't willing to enforce them?

And plenty of room for a big sploot!

I used to ski there and Bromont when I lived in Waterloo. But that was a little more than 40 years ago. :) I made a side trip to drive through the area last year when I was there for a Habs game. Beautiful country.

That's just down the road from where I used to live. My absolute favourite memories growing up were autumn days in the Eastern Townships.

What planner decided that this was acceptable design for a new bike lane? Zero protection from 70km/h traffic, but you get the opportunity to be crushed against a concrete wall.

An unprotected bike lane squeezed between 3 lanes of fast traffic to the left, and the concrete wall of a bridge to its immediate right.

McDonald's. It'll come in a Happy Meal.

I'm seriously considering having my teen do one year in English in Quebec so that her kids would have that option should they ever need it.

3-1 Habs. Newhook scores first, on the powerplay.
