It's never explained why Gatwa leaving would necessitate abandoning plot threads, as if 9, 10, & 11 weren't all trying to find Gallifrey. Why wouldn't 16 just go looking for Susan, anyway? Why throw it away?

Oh, yeah! The Master! Another old villain from the old show that I didn't know in 2007. Just saying, the "nostalgia" wasn't the problem. The finales of RTD2 were just so bad that they retroactively ruined earlier episodes. And the explanations were just nonsensical.

As a correction to my comment on that video, when I first saw a Dalek, it was in Daleks take Manhattan, so it was in an episode that kinda sucked. It kinda made me think Daleks were stupid until I saw series 1.

What's the legal justification for victim impact statements? They seem like a way to try to convince a judge that one victim is hurt more than another, and therefore this convicted person should be punished more? Like a way to convince a judge to punish the same crime in different ways?

Our family show right now is #TheMiddle. MUCH better than I expected. They keep doing this thing where it's obvious where the episode is going, but then they twist it in a kinder way than I was expecting, and it's really refreshing.

I think Fat Monica was depicted the way she was because they didn't want to show her as sad and undercut the jokes at her expense, putting her in 'jolly, fat person' tropes instead. But I love this fun, low stakes media re-analysis & I want more. The Janice video made my wife fight me, though.

That said, it is cool seeing the progression. The last time Moffat made everyone come out to get The Doctor (The Pandorica Opens), a couple of guys just jumped out, grabbed the Doctor, & threw them in jail. This time, The Doctor spends 100 years beating everyone up instead. Progress!

it's the whole unnecessary "will Amy choose the doctor or Rory" thing that was weak. 2nd worst thing about 11's first series. I just like that Rory seemed more to tolerate the Doctor than to even really like them. It was refreshing to have a companion just be like, "🤷‍♂️ I guess this is my job, now."

My favorite companion of the revival (not named Martha Jones, since she was my intro) is Rory, simply because I can't recall a single instance of Rory giving a speech about how damn wonderful the Doctor Is. This pissed me off ever since it was introduced, but it wasn't until 14 and 15 were palling around with UNIT like the latter was their personal cannon fodder that is really sank in. UNIT should always be suspicious of the Doctor. Hero worship of the Doctor should be disqualifying from UNIT members.

It's about the Doctor (& new fans) discovering Who the Doctor is. We should even do the joke at the end of the 1st episode. It's a journey, where the Doctor rediscovers how to be a hero. The singular story of the Doctor learning about themself. There should be a name for that. #DoctorWhoTender

The villain is actively chasing the Doctor & maybe comes close at the end of a few episodes. But we save their actual trap for the end of the series. There's your cliffhanger going into the finale. They don't need to secretly be behind or even connected to every episode's plot. #DoctorWhoTender

They spend the series picking up strays & DEMONSTRATING who they are, instead of giving speeches. The Space Amnesia gives the companions a reason to explain the setting instead of the Doctor just knowing everything, but the latter gets to figure out the plan because they're smart. #DoctorWhoTender

The villain is none of the big three (save them for later series), but original and seemingly small, so that the threat can properly build over the series, instead of just showing up at the end. Maybe even from Earth, like Torchwood or UNIT, and they remember the Doctor is an alien. #DoctorWhoTender
