I spent the past day sitting with the work of @mistykrueger.bsky.social who we lost yesterday. I have taught her memoir about breast cancer nearly every semester, and it was a constant reminder of the crip kinship that we shared.
A prose poem with the following text:

Your Birthday

Every time you have an appointment or procedure (including every chemo infusion and radiation treatment) you have to tell someone your birth date. Sometimes in one day you will have to recite your birthday many times. Tell the assistant. Tell the nurse. Tell another nurse. Tell everyone your birth date. When you get radiation you have to say it every day. It became so automatic. This month. This day. This year. Again and again.
Cancer patients are identified by their dates of birth, and sometimes it feels ironic to think of birth when we are struggling to fight off death.
A poem with the following text:

Ode to My Body: My Fingernails

Chemo tears you from your beds. It
exposes your skin underneath
to the elements of the world,
curves your sides like a cylinder,
flattens your tips like a square, and
draws lines on your face like age rings
on an old tree.

I must cut you short.
I don't want you to fall off.
I must strengthen you.

Friends, what books are you currently loving? Open to any genre except YA (just doesn't do it for me).

If you want a book that has thousands of years of things to say about this topic, that isn’t Eurocentric, and that ends with scathing thoughts about today’s sovereigns of code, may I suggest mine? US preorders: tinyurl.com/DataEmpireUS UK/Commonwealth: tinyurl.com/DataEmpireUK

The Abortion Liberation Fund of Pennsylvania needs money NOW to help five abortion seekers access care. If you've been panicking and looking for something concrete to do, here it is! Any amount helps. bit.ly/alfpaECA

Worried about how long your favorite art, stories, videos, and other media will remain online? You can do something about it. Archive it, put it on a flash drive, share it. Digital things are fragile, but you don't need serious tech skills to protect the digital things you care about. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

It’s official: TRANSPLANAR IS DOING A VAMPIRE ARC 🩸✨ I’m putting every bloody, messy, transsexual, queer, Chinese, monstrous ounce of terrible sanguine goodness into this Arc as the Game Master. Come join me in the neon streets of INFERNO, where Shanghai meets Romeo and Juliet meets BLADE. 🗡️🕷️

Actual play, porn, games, sex—it's all basically the same thing. Except, you know, when it's not. Rascal takes a long... hard... look at the latest TTRPG discourse.
