Veilchenblau is really beautiful, insect-friendly and smells very nice. It's a heritage though so it has both thorns and a max of two blooms per year.

Others already mentioned glue pads. If you don't mind putting up new wallpaper, professional installation tape can hold up to 140kg :P. For lighter pictures there are plaster hooks (see picture). If you have lots of pics, a gallery rail might be the best option: www.picturehangingsystems.com

I used to enjoy them as a kid. I found them pretty clever compared to classic advertising as they referred the text itself. The texters clearly at least skimmed the books. But then the ones in the kids books were much more obvious and couldn't be confused with actual author text:

If it was a used book, it could have been a Penguin mystery. I think they had abandoned that design by the 70s. But that would probably not narrow it down significantly :P.

The monster 😁. Second best kitchen decision in my life 😛. Don't get me wrong: Miele has superior components and lasts longer. Over the lifetime price is probably a wash. It's just that "will my oven outlive me" is not really one of my priorities. Different if replacing it would be a major issue.

Standard type over here. The S-trap ones are basically considered "old people thrones". Work perfectly. Might be more difficult to install with US paper-mache walls though 😉.
