“it’s just a social media app” if you can say this about #TikTok, you weren’t using it right. it might have been just silly videos and comedic relief to you, but to so many others it has been representation, education, community, organization, amplification, and so much more.

the “get off social media” take is exhausting. i’m happy for you— that all you have to do is set down your phone to find relief. but the brutal reality is that getting offline doesn’t stop the horrors from happening. for an empath, all it does is make the anxiety worse. the not knowing is worse.

coming to bluesky because of meta’s fact-checking announcement is a good plan. not abandoning the communities you’ve cultivated on meta is also a good plan. they would love to see us disconnected, wouldn’t they?

10/10 recommend this docuseries on witch trials! makes you realize that “witch hunts” never really stopped, they just keep getting rebranded throughout history with the targets shifting among various marginalized groups 😤 #NowWatching Witches: The Truth Behind the Trials on Hulu
