I think the rounded cartoons actually scare kids off more... because no one watched the examples I gave. There's so many obscure examples of this style. It's the Gumball clone style. I like Gumball, but hate the overuse of this look, and how it replaced UPA revival.

It's actually gonna be a gag in the 1st episode of my cartoon. The main character, Ruby, will make a clone that looks off, and it'll be in that bubble vector style.

Actually, it dates back to the 80s. When new executives were put in charge of the real Ghostbusters, they demanded Janine's glasses be changed, because "sharp edges are scary to kids", and demanded that she be a "nicer and friendlier" character. I feel that 80s mentality is back in modern stuff.

It's a goth electronic subgenre/aesthetic with trap and/or electroclash influences. Earlier stuff has less electroclash influence, but the two genres began to overlap with artists like Crystal Castles, Sidewalks & Skeletons, & Snow Strippers.
