I understood the first time I heard it that "à l'anis" was meant to be "sucette à l'Annie" because anis was supposed to be pronunced aniss. The only thing I thought was that it was strange to not pronunce the final s 😋 (but I now get that some other french regions do not pronunxe the s 😉)
