Eamon Javers @eamonjavers.bsky.social · 30/09/2026That’s interesting - and pretty much what veteran CIA station chief Ralph Goff - who recruited spies for a living - says in the documentary. 010
Eamon Javers @eamonjavers.bsky.social · 30/09/2026The central question that the jury wrestled with was this: Was Rogers a witting Chinese spy, or simply a dupe who fell for a sophisticated intelligence operation against him? Let me know what YOU think. 070
Eamon Javers @eamonjavers.bsky.social · 30/09/2026And there’s a real question of whether Chinese intelligence even targeted the right guy here - Rogers’ defense team argued that as an economist he didn’t even know the most secret secrets of the Fed at all. 160
Eamon Javers @eamonjavers.bsky.social · 30/09/2026A couple things really stood out to me in this saga: all spies everywhere look for people with human vulnerabilities that they can exploit- and Rogers certainly had those. But things like his nude selfies were essentially human weaknesses + any institution, including the Fed, is made up of humans. 251
