I have never watched an episode of TV more emotionally impactful than season 1 episode 3 of The Last of Us. I watch it, and rewatch it, and I never get tired of it. It's a complete departure from the source material, and in the best way. Nick Offerman's performance is legendary. 1/2

How do we securely distribute a message that can be decrypted by all intended recipients, and only by those recipients? The answer with OpenPGP is to encrypt the message separately for every recipient. One can see the problem if you have 1,000 friends in your circle.

One-to-one secure communication is easy. OpenPGP has been doing this for decades; a message is securely encrypted using the recipient's public key. Only they can decrypt it. The challenge comes in implementing groups.

Like I mentioned before, the base product, what Facebook _used_ to be, is great. The ability to talk _just_ to your circle, to have complete control over visibility, doesn't exist in any other social network (to my knowledge).
