Dynasty Stashes - Week 2
Raheim Sanders (RB - CLE) If Raheim “Rocket” Sanders wasn’t scooped up in your league’s initial waiver run this week, make sure you grab him. With Dylan Sampson now on IR with a knee injury, Sanders steps into the RB2 role behind Quinshon Judkins. We saw Sanders get some work at the end of last year when Judkins went down with an injury. In the final three games, he toted the rock 24 times for 89 scoreless yards and caught three passes for 21 yards. Worst case, Sanders takes over Sampson’s pass-catching role, which is what we saw on Sunday. The second-year back caught all three of his targets for 25 yards against the Jaguars. Given Cleveland’s offensive environment, Sanders won’t have much standalone value unless Judkins is sidelined for any reason. But there’s some talent here. He rushed for over 1,400 yards at Arkansas in 2022. As a senior at South Carolina, he amassed 1,197 total yards, caught 27 passes, and found pay dirt 13 times. Sanders also ran a 4.46 40-yard dash at roughly 220 pounds. That combination of size and athleticism makes him worth stashing for the contingent upside alone. Roman Wilson (WR - PIT) In the future, rookie Germie Bernard might be a stud. But if Sunday’s usage is any indication of how the snaps are going to shake out, then he might not be a thing this season. Roman Wilson might be, though. After a couple of years of being an afterthought for the Steelers, it looks like he’s finally involved in the passing attack. Wilson played 55% of the snaps and received the most targets he’s ever seen in a game in his young career: six. He finished the day catching three for 26 yards, but his day could’ve been much, much better. He beat A.J. Terrell on a go ball that should’ve been a 65-yard touchdown. Wilson had a clean release off the line and stacked Terrell down the field, forcing the corner to interfere and essentially tackle Wilson rather than give up the long score. Wilson also dropped a 40-plus-yard score at the end of the first half. Granted, he had a defender draped all over him, but the deep ball hit Wilson right in the hands, and he should’ve caught it. If either of those plays hit, we’re talking about Wilson being a must-roster player in all formats rather than a deep dynasty stash. Funny how small the margins are. Go grab him if he’s still out there in the available player pool. Aaron Rodgers talked up Wilson throughout the offseason and backed up that praise in Week 1 with a few deep shots that should’ve resulted in touchdowns.
