I often look at the colors/patterns of wildlife and marvel at the artistic genius of nature. Especially seeing photos like this of close-ups of each feather, or each scale of a butterfly wing. Or the more subdued patterns of this jumping spider.

Close-up of a jumping spider showing the four eyes, pedipalps, and hairy legs all in shades of tan, brown and black.

🌿 I saw this little fly(?) in a jewelweed bloom and snapped a phot. Then tried to get a clearer one and out popped this crab spider (perhaps tribe Misumenini?) which had captured it!

Or the other way around, while cleaning his water trough.....

Great shot! I couldn't get a close-up like yours, but still fun...a Crested Caracara on a crown of Saguaro buds

Sadly, de Adder hits the nail on the head....

Cartoon by de Adder shows a gun training labeled Community Policing Training for ICE agents where they are shooting posters of everyday people in the head.

Nothing to see here, just that the government has the capability to monitor our movements through our cell phones and the data that is shared and sold by apps we use. What could possibly go wrong?

I found this in my memory box from the 1960s when i was a Bluebird ( young Campfire girl). Looking at it now, i can see that it has been my philosophy of life all these years.

Old Handmade poster titled "The Blue Bird Wish"
1. To have fun
2. To learn to make beautiful things
3. To remember to finish what i begin
4. To want to keep my temper most of the time
5. To go interesting places
6. To know about trees and flowers and birds
7. To make friends.

Oh, by far my favorite is this:

Check out this amazing spider i saw today! I put it on iNaturalist as a Shamrock Orbweaver and am waiting to see it confirmed.

Large, orange round-bodied spider with white and black striped legs in a web. It is a Shamrock orb weaver (i am pretty sure).

I'm not particularly patient, but reading history, this seems to be generally true for leaders of countries:

Poster with a quote

"Karma says:
When you destroy someone's life with lies, fake hopes and promises.
Take it as a loan, it will come back to you with interest."

A Labor Day quote from Banksy, for those of us persisting and resisting.

Poster of art by Banksy - a little girl sitting with a book, gazing at a blue bird. His quote reads: if you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit.

Diane @dyn13.bsky.social · 31/08/2025

Today's quote Is inspired by those who are out there using art, sidewalk chalk, cartooning, comedy, etc to speak truth to power and embody the resistance! Specifically, those chalking 🌈 crosswalks!

Quote by Ursula K Le Guin
" we live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often, in our art, the art of words."

Diane @dyn13.bsky.social · 25/08/2025

In light of the continued, outrageous, authoritarian moves by this outrageous administration, this quote seems timely.

Benjamin Franklin answering a woman who asked what kind of government the Constitutional Convention had given this new country "A Republic, ma'am if you can keep it."

After reading what Dear Leader said about how there had been too much focus on slavery being so bad, I thought this might be an appropriate quote of the day.

Image of President Lincoln and his quote. "Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery, I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally."

Diane @dyn13.bsky.social · 18/08/2025

I'm going to try a positive 'quote of the day' post. I love quotes and it boosts my mood to search them out "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” * 1/2
