This morning the cab structure was lifted up onto KJEF's new air traffic control tower. So exciting. This project has literally been 30 years in the making.

Cab is slowly lowered to the tower structure as workers position it so the connection points meet. Seeing the workers gives a good impression of what the controllers will look like at work in the finished tower.

Up and away, crane is lifting the cab up about even with the top of tower before swinging it over to it's mounting position

Jefferson City Fire Department ran their Firefighter's Physical Agility Test today, and of course I challenged myself to do it. Well, I lived! A respectful 8 minutes and 29 seconds to complete (10 minutes is pass/fail). It was fun, and now I need a nap...LOL

In Missouri, Absentee Voting is open. No Excuse Absentee Voting opens March 25th. Please vote (for me!)! An interesting stat: There are 6,000 registered voters in Jefferson City Ward 3. Only 1,600 vote in city elections. Make YOUR voice heard! There's really "no excuse". In brief: V O T E !

It's a frenzy here for bird Thanksgiving. This gang of American Goldfinches is keeping the chickadees and house finches away, among others. We have red-bellied, Downy and Hairy woodpeckers regularly visiting. On the ground below the feeder doves, blue jays, juncos and squirrels are on clean-up duty.
