I wish SpaceX wasn't an Elon Musk thing. It's genuinely impressive but with his name attached I just can't like it.

My concern is Musk now has access to the heart of the US government and likely will get even more in "subsidies" and contracts to prop up his idiotic endeavours. He won't care about customer revenues then. His Department of Government Efficiency is going to do everything it can to make him richer.

I delved deep into GeoTIFF today. Wrote a script to convert a 32-bit GeoTIFF into 8-bit PNG without losing data. I… think… it works? The next part I want to do is even harder!

I'm seeing my follower numbers dropping daily on there. I really hope that's a good sign.

I didn't — I started to read the warning and thought "How expensive could it be‽ Let's give it a go!" and then saw the price on the button and turned disabled the feature completely. 😂

I just stumbled across this "Bug Finder" feature in Cursor (hidden behind a beta flag). Has anyone tried it yet?

I was‽ That's lovely. 😀 I hope you're well.

I'm a London techie. 👋🏻

Davey Barker @dvy.io · 14/11/2024

That's… a lot. Maybe this place will catch on after all!

Davey Barker @dvy.io · 08/11/2024

Likewise. It's been bad for a while but this week it's been truly horrendous. Pure anxiety.

I did it, and it arrived today! (M4 Pro, 64GB) Very happy so far. Runs my PHP tests about twice as fast as my M2 MacBook Air, and allows me to run LLMs I couldn't feasible run before.

I saw this tweet. They just don't understand.

This election has really allowed a huge number of tech bros (and they have all been men) to go mask off about their support for Trump. Twitter/X is almost impossible to use now. Either they're actively supporting authoritarianism, or they're cheering it on with no idea of what it means.

I actually didn't know Cloudflare offered what I needed, so I'm going to look into using them instead of the Triangle company going forward.

I don't blame you. I'm very close to doing the same.

Davey Barker @dvy.io · 15/05/2023

Beautiful. Where are you?

There is no easy answer to censorship by intimidation, especially in a country like Turkey that has a hostage-taking law requiring platforms to have local staff. But the mealy-mouthed “some content” from the Public Policy handle is a shameful failure to provide any transparency or accountability.

Very. I'm having to stop myself thinking about it or my anxiety creeps up.

Damn, that's clever!
