DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Starting my Halloween viewings a little early with a snuff movie: THESIS (1996). A character in this collects gore mixtapes and wears a sick BLACK ROSES shirt, so I will be watching Black Roses shortly as well. 000
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 29/07/2026I've played 2 so far.. I do plan to complete all the Higurashi games one day and then play through Umineko. I've been slowly working my way through them for years now (they are 100% reading). And I'm already a few chapters deep in Danganronpa 2 030

DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 02/03/2026 ...but the winner for me was Paradais. Deeply disturbing stream of conscious, boys will be boys, pressure cooker on the verge of exploding fable from a fantastic Mexican author. Need to read more by her. 010
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 02/03/2026Books I read in the month of February... The Getaway was riveting and a nice change of pace for me, Dear Stupid Penpal is charming epistolary fiction with a sci fi horror twist... 200
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 12/02/2026Found an accidentally extremely underpriced bottle of Krug 166 at a stupid times square restaurant last night and went for it. Really beautiful wine, the best champagne I've ever tasted. 030
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 01/02/2026Had a rough January (influenza, tooth pulled, dissolving jaw, mourning) but I did read two great books! Itch! I recommend for an upsetting small town mystery w/ bugs and folk horror elements Black Brane is dense prose weird lit, quantum physics in a hole, broke brain bizarre. Seeking more by Cisco 080

DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 19/01/2026I've been getting endless texts like these, threatening me, telling me how irresponsible I am. I informed them of the deaths in July and that the house was selling in September. Also do their pumps not stop when the tank is full? Do they not check before they start? What the fuck is she on about? 110

DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 01/03/2025Speed round, 8, 9, 10: Hide by Kiersten White. Reality TV brained death game in a derelict amusement park. Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay. Riveting metafiction about filmmaking & the meaning of horror to fans & artists. Coup De Grâce by Sofia Ajram. Absolutely fucked me up. A new favorite novel. 031
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 16/02/2025I took one picture of myself last night and it's me mournfully drinking 32oz of water. Know I had a pleated skirt to match the blazer, tights, leg warmers, and loafers. 110
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 13/02/2025Book 7: Agustina Bazterrica's Tender Is The Flesh. Finally got around to my print copy of this modern classic. It deserves the hype. A grotesque analysis of human selfishness in an unsustainable economic system. Beautiful & disgusting, gorgeous translation. That last sentence will haunt me forever. 100
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 05/02/2025Book 6: Imminent: Inside the Pentagon's Hunt for UFOs by Luis Elizondo. If you're going to read one real I WANT TO BELIEVE non-fiction novel this year, this is the one. Elizondo reads the audiobook himself and it's good shit, if you want to believe. 100
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 28/01/2025Book 5: Anybody Home? By Michael J. Seidlinger. Funny Games fan fiction. I read the ebook and if you are curious about this, I'd say get the audiobook due to the format of it being someone teaching and advising you about conducting a home invasion. 110
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 22/01/2025Book 4: Wake Up And Open Your Eyes by Clay McLeod Chapman (@claymcleod.bsky.social). Listened to the audiobook, which is excellently produced. I'm a huge fan of this author -- if you are new to his work, GHOST EATERS is easily one of my favorite novels of the past few years. 241
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 11/01/2025Book 3: The Eye Are The Best Part by Monika Kim. Starts as a horror story about a young woman's experience coming of age as a Korean American and then goes full blown FUCK AWFUL MEN, which I Ioved. End lost me for a beat, but it led somewhere clever. Audiobook reader is excellently cast. 120
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 10/01/2025Book 2: 100 Ghost Stories That Will Lead To My Own Death Vol. 1. Horror manga anthology that is much darker than it looks. Will be reading Vol 2. 110
DVDBOXSET (Madeleine) @dvdboxset.bsky.social · 10/01/2025Book 1: Joel Lane's "The Witnesses Are Gone". A novella about lost media, and getting lost in media. Beautiful prose. Wish it was longer. 100
