Fun fact, I was there for the opening! My uncle, Bert Collins and his band wrote the song performed to celebrate the day. Uncle Bert went on to become a local celebrity, most famous for his hit, Little Skidoo
The song that was written for the grand opening of the Big Nickle in Sudbury, Ontario was composed by the local singing group, the Collins Mixers
