Legendary basketball coach John McLendon was born on this day in Hiawatha, Kansas. McLendon is remembered for his role coaching NCCU against Duke in "the secret game" a closed door scrimmage in 1944 that defied Jim Crow laws. 🏀 #blackhistory #basketball #secretgame #nccu #history #durham
