My family home is close enough to the local outdoor gun range that you can occasionally hear people firing rounds from all sorts of weaponry. The police train with heavier guns there. There are shooting events for charity.

That may well be. I’m not in that world and can’t speak to it. The thing is, regardless of any other factors, tools don’t reduce work, they redistribute it. People want these tools to solve their problems for them and/or do things they’re too incompetent/lazy to do, and that’s not what tools are.

The funny thing is, I know a programmer who has found a lot of really handy ways to use Claude, but this programmer is also emphatic that most people cannot do what he does with it because they can’t do what he does *without* Claude; he’s very experienced and knows the tools’ limits and uses.

I’m not sure it’s possible to do that. Even if you can get people to stop giving them power, and even if you can make them pay for their many crimes, they will *still* believe that they were chosen/destined for power and that they deserve it. They will still seek out power again if they can.
