made an addition to the Elves post, adding my interpretation of od&d's elf dual-classing rule, which i've been using in my most recent game!
Aspects

The unusual circumstances of your existence have left you with a twofold soul. Before each adventure, you must choose to be in either your Lunar or Solar aspect. Each aspect has its own name, its own physicality, its own dreams. Together they are whole, but they are never together. They may never share the sky.

XP is shared between aspects, but HP is separate. While in your Lunar aspect, your prime requisite is Intelligence, and you act as a mage. While in your Solar aspect, your prime requisite is strength, and you act as a fighter.

At the height of its power, a Lunar aspect can grow far more powerful then a Solar one. Some consider the role of the Solar aspect to protect the Lunar one until this strength can be achieved. A cribswap which has fully realized both aspects becomes as powerful as the old elves-under-the-earth, and fights as a Monster.

(a fully-realized Lunar cribswap can reach 8th level, while a Solar aspect can only reach 4th)

something i’ve always found somewhat whimsical about od&d is that due to how the encounter tables are set up, there is basically always a minimum 12.5% chance you run into a werewolf (well, lycanthropes generally).
od&d’s “Wilderness Wandering Monsters” tables. 5/7 tables include Lycanthropes as an option on a d8 table.

finally sat down and learned how to do tables in html. im about to become unstoppable. (no new post just playing around)
A table formatted in html, displaying Level, Title, XP, Hit Dice, and Spells for three levels of a Monk class.

"Prime Attribute: Faith

Weapons: light, medium

Armour: leather, chain. You can use shields, but require a Holy Symbol in your offhand to cast spells.

You can speak and read Archaic, the language of divine scrolls and historical texts, and can cast spells from divine scrolls."

going through some old dungeon keys i wrote around this time last year. i wonder what was going through my head when i wrote this one?
A room entry for an od&d dungeon: "b09. Horse Room. Wooden shelves stocked with horse skulls. Anyone who touches the skulls has horrid nightmares about horses the following night."

open letter to the spiders that index the web: why did you pick the strangest possible sentence to put here? i guess im not complaining, but its somewhat odd.
A google search result for alice's blog. The hyperlink reads "dungeon doll." The text underneath it reads: "A giant beast which could carry all of his books in its belly, which could easily be extracted through the mouth."

hey folks, i sorta stumbled into a #BLOGGIES24 nomination this year, and since my blog is pretty new, i figured i'd introduce myself: my name is alice, i run the blog dungeon doll, where i post gameable stuff for od&d. Dungeon Gods is going to be up for voting tomorrow (Jan 10th)! here's a sample:
The Lady of Blood

A goddess of war and strife, clad in black armour. A patron goddess of berserkers and vampires. Hanging from her shrine are strips of bloodstained cloth, beneath it sit broken teeth.

To make a prayer to her, blood must be left at the shrine. It can be yours, or another's, but you must have earned it in battle.

To gain her boon, you must offer your wounds to the Lady of Blood. You must be below 1/6th of your maximum hit points, and shed your armour before the shrine.

Gain +1 to weapon damage; however, your wounds may no longer be tended. You can only restore hit points at the usual rate of 1/day. To cure your wounds through magic would be blasphemous, for they are not your own anymore, but her's.

re-reading od&d again. i really like the idea of applying the “20% chance to speak common” to things that don’t normally speak at all. talking animals anyone?
TEXT: “The ‘common tongue’ spoken throughout the ‘continent’ is known by most humans. All other creatures and monsters which can speak have their own language, although some (20%) also know the common one.

Does anyone know of miniatures that have a sort of battle-maiden aesthetic? Like this sort of vibe:
