If you have to ask grok that's a questionable source of truth.

My secondary thought on that was bot net with malicious remote hijacking. Not necessarily the model itself but malware not operated by humans.

We've probably got something similar down under with his face on it but I don't carry much on me in coins.

Oh, I see... the worms. So if human-made bot nets weren't enough now the AI will be creating them and DDoSing everything.

Self replicating an AI model that requires hundreds of gigabytes of memory to train and run on a fridge with potato specifications? Now they're just being silly.

I used to work at Dick Smith so I built up a bit of experience for translation there.

And the one platform that wouldn't give a damn about regulating it would be Trump's own Truth Social even if it was not broadcast anywhere else the leakage is still going to occur.

And each new shared video will generate a new share link that is entirely unique from the OG. Given that many of the shares will be occurring on websites and in apps that we heavily rely on if we took the DNS blocking path you'd basically break the internet.
110 1
Duncan "Donuts" MacFarlane @duncan.macfarlane.app · 14/10/2026
But any recording won't match the OG because you're essentially creating a brand new file that will have introduced subtle differences, slight dips in internet speed could have added pixelation in random places that changes the final image and therefore the file hash or bitstream.

Duncan "Donuts" MacFarlane @duncan.macfarlane.app · 14/10/2026
For live video streams it's a different story, a social media company could geo block the source link for the original stream but a viewer of that stream could record and edit and upload it again and again. How one might go about matching a video stream is to check the 1s and 0s of the raw bitstream
110 1
Duncan "Donuts" MacFarlane @duncan.macfarlane.app · 14/10/2026
Typically how blocking is done from a file sharing perspective is through DNS filter lists provided by ISPs as mandated by government if you hit an IP address that is on the block list it redirects, it doesn't target specific links but the entire website.

If it's being picked up by third party using capture card it's not a perfect bit match to block if you were blocking by matching exact image as capture cards might introduce artifacts like pixelation.

The problem is restreaming. If it's an internet broadcast feed that can be picked up by anybody you've got a whack-a-mole of stream links to block.

Should, but like everything else capitalist they'll have worked out the maximum amount they can charge and will just have to absorb it unless they want inventory piling up or expiring before it's purchased.

Given this seems to be a one off mix and match of several different vehicles as a training project for apprentices to build up their skills I suspect it's not going into production.

Also, where I currently am located, Geraldton, there is a town about 150km inland, Mullewa, and I've met people at the food bank who make the trip once a month just to stock up. Having access to such a concept would be amazing for them I would imagine. Closing the gap on food deserts.

Removing the profit incentive from essentials might be a good thing though and it would set a price floor as competition.

I start with an off the shelf privacy focused operating system installed on a spare computer that is designed specifically for locally hosted smart homes, @home-assistant.io, developed in the EU by a non-profit org. There is a learning curve but it's not completely out of reach.

If we're going to cede the research and development space (through chronic government underfunding and short term private profit) to another country don't be surprised when we need to coordinate with that country.
