Per the ACC: The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today the launch of Two Traditions. One Court., a new initiative designed to bring greater visibility and storytelling to men’s and women’s basketball games between ACC programs and Historically Black Colleges and Universities during the 2026-27 season. ACC men’s and women’s basketball teams are scheduled to play 37 games against 18 HBCU programs this season, with the potential for a 38th matchup.

Jon Scheyer has spent the past several recruiting cycles expanding what a Duke basketball recruit can look like. Now that search has taken the Blue Devils back to Australia. Australian guard Luke Paul has committed to Duke, giving Scheyer one of the most intriguing young playmakers in international basketball and continuing Duke's growing willingness to recruit prospects developing outside the traditional American high school system.

College sports need a serious overhaul. The current setup is chaotic, inconsistent, and often makes no sense. While a national system for name, image, and likeness (NIL) rights, athlete well-being, scholarships, and representation might sound good, and some parts of the proposed Protect College Sports Act offer athletes protections they should have had ages ago, there's a bigger issue at play: who's really in charge?

Mascot ‌or ‌Manhood? There ‌are apparently still some really uptight people about Jared McCain painting his fingernails. Not his jump shot. Not his defense. Not whether he can remain healthy or help his team win or continue to grow into the player we expect him to be. His fingernails. And maybe the most fascinating thing about all of this isn't even that some people don't care for painted nails.

One of the cool parts of one of the most unusual frontcourts the ACC is going to feature under Jon Scheyer this year is how the pieces can already be plugged and played. Size, skill, versatility, and upside for development, not to mention the chance to match the opposition's style. Scheyer has choices, and more accurately, he has choices that aren't merely carbon copies of each other in terms of strengths.

Per Duke Comms: Duke Men’s Basketball is proud to host the fifth annual Dribble for Victory Over Cancer, presented by Nuna Baby, in partnership with the V Foundation for Cancer Research, Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF), and Duke Children’s Hospital. This event, kicking off the Countdown to Craziness weekend, will occur on Friday, Oct. 2, and raise critical funds for childhood cancer research.

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the matchups for its 18-game men's basketball schedule for the 2026-27 season Wednesday, completing Duke's slate for the upcoming campaign. Duke's 18-game ACC schedule includes home-and-away series with designated rival North Carolina and repeat opponent Virginia. The remaining 14 conference games consist of seven home-only opponents and seven road-only opponents. The Blue Devils host California, Florida State, Miami, NC State, Notre Dame, Pitt and Stanford, while traveling to Boston College, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville, SMU, Syracuse and Wake Forest.

Per Duke Comms:  DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University Athletics and Edward Jones marked the start of a four-year partnership naming Edward Jones the Official Wealth Management Partner of Duke Basketball. The partnership, which focuses on financial education and student-athlete support, came to life on Aug. 31, when the firm's logo was unveiled on the court at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The on-court logo is the first of many elements in the partnership, which was first announced in June and runs through 2030.

Per Duke Comms: Former Duke men’s basketball All-American Tommy Amaker was inducted into the Washington D.C. Sports Hall of Fame on Sunday, Aug. 30, during a Washington Nationals' pregame ceremony at Nationals Park. A native of the Washington metropolitan area, Amaker starred at W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia, before beginning a distinguished playing and coaching career at Duke.

Jon Scheyer has been moving differently during this recruiting cycle, casting a wide net. Duke has been extremely active on the recruiting trail for the 2027 class, extending offers to a group that includes wings AJ Williams, Deng Ngor, DeMarcus Henry, and Asa Montgomery, guards Adan Diggs and Beckham Black, and center Lewis Uvwo. …

With so much attention focused on Duke's elite freshman class and the return of Patrick Ngongba, it's easy to understand why Drew Scharnowski has flown under the radar this offseason. The Blue Devils are loaded with talent at the forward and center positions, and conversations naturally gravitate toward five-star prospects and familiar faces. But while the spotlight shines elsewhere, Duke quietly added one of the most versatile frontcourt players in the transfer portal—a player whose skill set could prove invaluable over the course of a championship-caliber season.

Per Duke Comms: Duke announced its preseason men’s basketball schedule Wednesday, featuring a home scrimmage against Belmont, a home exhibition game versus Tennessee and a road exhibition contest at Kansas. The Blue Devils open preseason play Thursday, Oct. 8, against Belmont at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Bruins posted a 26-6 overall record and won the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship last season.

Duke's Freshman Class and the Beauty of Not Being the Man... Yet For years now the elite group of first-year students at Duke have had to face a well-known question: who is going to be the next superstar? As soon as Zion Williamson arrived in Durham, it was expected that he would rescue the program. Cooper Flagg, when he entered college basketball, was the most highly anticipated prospect in decades and immediately became the key figure in a team aiming for a championship, although Kon Knueppel turned out to be a surprisingly good second choice.

I keep hearing it. Over and over, like a record stuck on the same groove: "Keep politics out of sports." Every time I hear it, I have to stop myself, because that sentence only makes sense if you've never had to fight for the right to play. If you've never been told that the field wasn't yours. If your body simply existing on that field was never considered political.

He arrived on a scooter. He left a legend. Now, the question isn't whether Caleb Foster belongs but whether anyone's paying enough attention. The doctors were clear and the surgery was done; the season, to anyone watching from the outside, was over. On March 7, 2026, Caleb Foster planted his right foot awkwardly in the first half of Duke's rivalry game against North Carolina and turned immediately toward the bench.

So it’s July—a month where the biggest basketball news is usually “player spotted in the gym” or “recruit posts a workout video”—and Arizona basketball Twitter has already decided Cam Williams’ career trajectory. Impressive work, everyone. The tweet in question, cheerfully announcing that Williams is “welcome to the bench” because Joaquim Boumtje Boumtje (JBB) committed to Duke, is exactly the kind of cope you’d expect from a fanbase still processing the fact that the No.

Another Knueppel Is Coming to Durham: What Kager Brings to Duke The Knueppel name was already woven into the fabric of Duke basketball. Now it's being stitched in for a second time. Kager Knueppel, younger brother of Charlotte Hornets star and former Blue Devil Kon Knueppel, committed to Duke on Monday night, giving Jon Scheyer his first addition to the 2027 recruiting class.

Let's be honest for a second. When Jon Scheyer pulled Joaquim Boumtje-Boumtje from FC Barcelona, the recruiting world collectively lost its mind - and rightfully so. A 7-foot, five-star center with NBA bloodlines (his father Ruben played in the league), promoted to Barcelona's senior team at the age of 16, opting to come to Cameron Indoor over staying in Europe? That's not just a recruiting win.

The overall recruiting and roster-building effort from Jon Scheyer has been nothing short of superb; however, there has been the ongoing matter of replacing assistant coach Evan Bradds. Bradds was the man behind Duke’s player development program under Scheyer. The new man to assume those responsibilities is KJ Conklin, who has established himself over a multitude of levels of basketball as one of the game's better player development coaches behind the scenes, ranging from high school all the way up to Division I basketball and into NBA- affiliated training spaces.

For all the attention surrounding Duke’s incoming roster construction, few players may ultimately shape the Blue Devils’ ceiling more than five-star forward Cameron Williams. The 6-foot-11 Arizona native arrives in Durham as one of the most physically intriguing prospects in the country, but what makes him especially compelling is how modern his game already looks before ever stepping onto a college floor.

The Value of Patience: Why Maxime Meyer Still Matters for Duke—Even If He Doesn’t Play In today’s college basketball world, patience feels almost outdated. Rosters turn over quickly, freshmen are expected to contribute immediately, and if a player isn’t in the rotation right away, people start wondering what went wrong. But at Duke Blue Devils men's basketball, some roster spots are about more than immediate production.

Duke is finally done waiting for John Blackwell. The Wisconsin transfer has officially withdrawn his name from the 2026 NBA Draft and is headed to Duke, giving Jon Scheyer one of the most experienced and productive guards in college basketball for next season. This is no ordinary good news for Duke; this is news that has the potential to reshape the roster.

Bryson Howard’s commitment brought more than just another highly ranked prospect to Duke. It gave the Blue Devils one of the fastest-rising wings in the country, a player whose style fits well with the direction Jon Scheyer is charting for the program. By the end of the 2026 cycle, Howard transformed from a name gradually climbing recruiting boards into a recognized national prospect, seen as one of the most complete perimeter players in his class.

As Duke Blue Devils men's basketball continues building around versatility and positional size, Deron Rippey Jr. gives the Blue Devils something every elite roster still needs at its core: a guard who can bend a defense before the possession is even fully set. The emphasis for Jon Scheyer has been clear since he took over in Durham: surround talent with pace, pressure, and playmaking.

Duke doesn’t just produce pros—it produces brands. From NIL to Duke Blue Planet to global exposure, here’s why no program matches the "Duke Multiplier."

While much of college basketball spent the offseason chasing upgrades, flipping rosters, and navigating the volatility of the transfer portal, Duke Blue Devils men's basketball took a different path—one built on intention. Not passive. Not conservative. Intentional. With its rotational core largely in place, Duke didn’t just assemble a roster—it executed a strategy rooted in retention, selective portal use, and calculated international additions.

As Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils look to finalize their rotational roster, the staff has also placed emphasis on replenishing the developmental depth that quietly supported last season’s core. Those “bridge” roles—often overlooked—proved critical in preparing rotation players behind the scenes. To address that need, Duke hosted rising senior Jacob Theodosiou for a visit on Wednesday, April 29. Either during or shortly after that visit, the Blue Devils secured a commitment from the Loyola Greyhounds guard.

Amazon and Duke University today announced a multiyear agreement for Prime Video to present exclusive coverage of Duke's storied men's basketball program. The agreement marks Prime Video's first college sports relationship, and starting this fall, the streamer will present three marquee Duke Blue Devils neutral-site nonconference men's basketball games per season. The series of exclusive top-tier matchups is slated to tip off in Las Vegas during the week of Thanksgiving and Black Friday on Wednesday, Nov.

With Jon Scheyer looking to finalize the Blue Devils’ roster for the 2026–27 season, Duke Blue Devils men's basketball turned to the international ranks. Unsatisfied with the available domestic options at the power forward spot—particularly in their search for a veteran presence—Duke began exploring overseas talent. When a traditional veteran addition failed to align with both the program’s timeline and specific needs, the Blue Devils shifted course, opting instead for the best overall talent available.

Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils have secured a commitment from Wisconsin guard John Blackwell. Blackwell, a 6'4", 203 lb. shooting guard, is one of the best shooters in the portal and looks to take the reins vacated by Isaiah Evans pending a decision, which will most likely be to the NBA. The addition instantly elevates Duke's roster to one of the best in the country with the possibility of another addition.
