It's been a few days and the exporter is working perfectly. I haven't really tooted about the source code as there are still some bits I want to add. It will be available for anyone who wants it in case they too happen to have an ancient telldus sensor […] [Original post on social.shangtai.net]

I did a thing! A tiny HTTP 1.0 library for C (99 because I'm strange but not cruel) The intent is to connect old stuff with the new stuff. Check it out here: git.shangtai.net/staffan/libmhttpd

Yes, I set it to the scary value of two whole minutes on purpose. Sigh.

My Chromecast just showed me one of my favorite screenshots from Elite Dangerous so I'll share it with you too. Enjoy.

A screenshot from Elite Dangerous of the horizon of a small planet with a huge blueish-white star covering the left quarter, a ringed planet in the near background and the rings of this planet showing as well. A commander (me) stands silhouetted small on a ridge next to a scarab srv, starting up so the rings.

Problem. The machine ramps up its fans very quickly it seems. With the CPUs idle at less than 40 degrees die temp and the closet door is closed, they start oscillating from inaudible to very noticeable and the ambient temperature here is still pretty low :-(

One of these bastards, for those bout in the know.

A photo of a cage nut in the palm of my hand. A cage nut is a square nut with a piece of bent spring steel that lets it clamp loosely on the back of a square hole rack hole so that you have somewhere to screw in an old school screw for units that do not have mounting rails; switches, patch panels and other lightweight or old stuff that expects a threaded hole.

Shipping companies! Stop trying to deliver to people's homes on a weekday from 9-5! Nobody's home! Default to pick-up locations like parcel boxes, you would save millions in work hours, gas (and/or electricity), support centers and so on. You'd gain millions in new revenue from reputation alone […]
