I'm not really into posting selfies to socmed anymore, but I did, at my partner's urging, recently buy a bonnet to wear at night for my curly hair, and I just want y'all to know I look exactly like this

Showing up to the roulette with my mentor crown on and This fit

A miqo'te woman wearing a dark blue graphic tee, khaki shorts, black shoes with white socks, and large black sunglasses, with a katana on her hip. If you've seen Smosh stuff, she's giving The Chosen.

I ain’t got new pictures for selfie day, but here I am at the Ren Faire last month ☺️ I’m just a critter, of a sort

It’s me! A white masc-presenting person, with a bushy little beard, rose-tinted glasses, and a flower crown, wearing a brown velvet cloak with the hood pulled up, and a headband with plush little goat horns attached. I don’t know how to smile for pictures so I’m just kinda. Looking down at camera in a way I hoped was pleasant.

I need this priest to be in situations.

A miqo'te from Final Fantasy XIV, wearing white priestly garb, seen from behind. She has short black hair, and a decorated buckler on her back. She gazes upon a statue of Nald'thal, within the Ossuary in Ul'dah.

The same scene, but the miqo'te is seen from a 3/4 view in front. She wears round brass spectacles on her mid-brown face, and bright yellow eyes shine behind them. She looks contemplative.

A closeup of the miqo'te, wearing an even, stern expression. She has a scar on her cheek, and lil freckles :)

The miqo'te looks more toward the viewer, and smiles softly.

Nnnnnnnnew FFXIV OC, R'helye Khandah. Priest of Nald'Thal and Chaplain to the Immortal Flames, she's unpopular in the Order of Nald'Thal for holding subversive notions such as "I don't think Nald'Thal would approve of exploiting the poor, actually. You know, if you think about it."

I want to return to FFXIV but I’m T for Torn about whether I want my little pixie OC’s mortal form to be uncanny (cute, lalafell) or uncanny (hot, hyur)

At long last, I actually sat down and did a WoL Inspo Chart for my beloved faerie knight. Just a real molotov cocktail in there, isn't it

A WoL Inspo Chart for the character Ser Pennyroyal, an uncanny, purple-haired midlander in green garb.

1: Discord (MLP:FiM)
2: Nimona (Nimona)
3: Feo Ul (Obviously)
4: Pippin (LotR)
5: Beetlejuice (The Musical)
6 Sir Gawain and the Green Knight (Whole Dang Thing)

Getting to be about my Warframe Drifter the way folks are about the WoLs. They came out of The Situation as some kind of sad void faerie. (VERY quick n sketchy art below)

Art of a Drifter from Warframe, standing with an arm out and a pathetic look on their face. They wear a diadem on their head and their hair pulled back, but some still falls in front of their face. They wear some clothe over a jumpsuit, with pauldrons on their shoulders

Fen @dubious-creature.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

FFXIV Shay started out as a Xaela who wandered to Eorzea via Dravania. But once Dawntrail came out, I immediately knew they needed to be from Shaaloani, so I retooled the whole character and backstory.

A Final Fantasy XIV screenshot of a round-faced, steely-eyed Miqo’te in a cowboy hat. They now have deep tan skin, and face paint emulates the prior vitiligo.

A picrew of the same character, looking characteristically nonplussed. They have long, thick, dark hair with red highlights.

A pencil sketch of the same character. Notably, their ears look slightly viera-esque

Fen @dubious-creature.bsky.social · 01/07/2025

It’s really ironic to me that one of my most beloved OCs started as a D&D character that I made specifically to not get too attached to. Now any setting with firearms gets its own Shay

A coloured fullbody sketch of a D&D monk. They’re wearing a wool-lined Mongolian-style jacket with a hood pulled up, wool-trimmed leather boots and gloves, a loose haori-style jacket over one shoulder, an owl-themed half-mask on their face and a red bandana over their mouth.

A scribble of the same character, stances you like caveman SpongeBob

A picrew of a blue-skinned person with vitiligo and fluffy white hair.

As a beginner-to-intermediate Warframe player, my piece of advice to even newer players is to not worry too much about which weapons are “good”- find a weapon that makes you go “hehehe YES” and invest in that. For me, I took one look at the Zarr and was like “I need her”

The Zarr, a primary weapon in Warframe that resembles a sailing ship’s cannon

Most pronounced difference is that it gets MUCH darker when UI isn't on. For reference, the only thing I did here was hide my UI, and it looks like the second photo in Gpose unless I throw on a border or sticker or something:

This tdov I look like a young understudy for the mountain goats but it’s what I’ve got right now

Me! A white person with long brown hair, pulled back into a bun (it’s curly but you can’t tell here), and a brown, slightly scraggly beard and moustache. I have a fairly pronounced nose and brown eyes that squint a little when I smile. I’m wearing big square glasses.

There's also Senne (she/they?) (who is probably nonbinary, but doesn't have the self-reflection to actually figure that out right now) and Shay (any/all) (whose gender is Cool Hat)

020

Fen @dubious-creature.bsky.social · 31/03/2025

My Main FFXIV OC, who has gone by many names, but currently goes by York, is a genderless little shapechanger- an errant pixie from the First, they consider mortal ideas of gender to be "funny" and would rather not worry about them, personally.

Still thinking about that Jumbo Cactuar card MtG previewed. 10,000 power is a lot, but honestly, for 7 mana and having to survive until it can attack, fair enough. On the other hand, consider:

Magic the Gathering card Fungal Sprouting, a 3 + G sorcery with the effect, “Put X 1/1 green Saproling creature tokens onto the battlefield, where X is the greatest power among creatures you control.”

The flavour text reads, “Saprolings need only a host to feed upon. Numbers will take care of the rest. -Ghave, Guru of Spores”

Please welcome Wytchlighter York, a little creecher living in the Shroud- and mostly causing trouble for those that get too far off the road in the deep woods #FFXIVOC

A bust-up shot of an au ra standing in Larkscall, East Shroud. Their skin is dark violet, their messy hair is black and green, and their pink-and-green eyes glow faintly in the dark. They grin somewhat threateningly.

I'm imagining Anri getting the job, taking it very seriously, but it just winds up like a Way of the House Husband panel like

Can you tell which deck I got serious with

A screenshot of Magic: The Gathering Arena, showing a deck list. The decks listed are:

2: "Counter Strike," a Mono-Green deck with an image of a cactus man
3: "Yaoi Convention," a Blue/Red deck with an image of a giant wizard
4: "Mmmmm mulch," a White/Black/Green deck with an image of some manner of frog monster
5: "Let's Take a Look at the M...[Menagerie]," a Blue/Green deck with an image of Volo, a foppish wizard

Me carrying home the groceries all by myself two days in a row vs me getting home today and finding out the incredible headache I’ve had all day is caused by excessive physical exertion

Two tarot cards side by side: first is the seven of swords, depicting a man carrying seven swords precariously in his arms. Hey man that’s a lot of swords hell yeah. The second is the nine of swords, depicting a man with his face in his hands in despair, nine swords mounted on the wall behind him. Aw no. That’s too many swords. Oh man. Damn, shit.

Been on another Minecraft kick, and got to make a greenhouse for my partner on our shared world :)

A minecraft screenshot of a greenhouse in the plains biome. The greenhouse is made of spruce and glass and has a steeple roof in front, with the sides having a barrel-vaulted roof. There is a pond in front, with an assortment of fish swimming in it (and a lobster, who is hiding)

#SennePosting All that said, Senne's Darkside is called Meaning. While she consciously pursues greater and greater challenges, deep in her psyche she tries to find fulfillment in it. And, given form, her Darkside seeks to find Meaning in... anything. Everything. Her Inland Empire.

Inland Empire, a character/stat from the game Disco Elysium. It is a strange, expressionistic circle, perched atop the neck and shoulders of a scrawny, pale man.

#wolqotd If your character is (or could be) a Dark Knight, what's their relationship with Esteem? Have you changed your OC's Darkside based on their past, personality, psychology? Does it look the same as in-game?

Genuinely should have gone into architecture, I’m helping design some structures and maps for my partner’s pathfinder campaign and this is such enrichment for me (don’t mind the lines, they’re freehand)

Diagram of a structure in the middle German style, looking part monastery, part trade house. It is labelled the Temple of Pappillenus, in Gobingate. The building is arranged in a U shape, with a garden in the middle. The bottom section is a food bank, with a counter separating the clergy on one side and the people on the other- public access is through several large, welcoming archways at the front of the building, and several tables and chairs are set up outside, nearby. To the left is a wing of sick rooms that lead up to a healer’s office. On the right is a tower with a staircase that leads upwards to additional quarters (not pictured). Connected to the tower on ground floor is a wing of small bunk rooms, ending with a kitchen. The sick wing, healer’s office, kitchen, and clergy-manned person of the food bank all have access to the garden courtyard.

I made a FFXIV version of her, a girl from Werlyt who worked on the Ultima Weapon project and went on to squish a MCH's aetheroconverter together with GNB's ammunition to make something approximating a Black Mage staff. She'd load a cartridge in and cast, like, Fire III. I miss the poor thing.

An au ra with purply hair and a timid expression, wearing practical yellow coat and a mechanical magic staff on her back.
