#2000sSongsChampionship The Guyliner Conference featured various bands that get so emo they scream and shout a lot. I enjoyed the rowdiness of this bunch and the pop punk stylings of Something Corporate, but My Chemical Romance's opus "Welcome to the Black Parade" took its rightful spot in the 64.

DT @dtfrombtown.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

#2000sSongsChampionship Went to the dance floor at the NYE 2010 party with our first bracket last night. Britney cracked that whip, but this one came down to an epic battle between Miley and Gaga with Black Eyed Peas comfortably through. "Bad Romance" took the automatic spot in the 64.

#2000sSongsChampionship For the 2nd bracket Tuesday, we flipped over to VH1 to catch some easy to digest soft rock type fare. Michelle Branch emerged over the likes of Train, Madonna, and Nelly Furtado, getting here debut single "Everywhere" into the Big Dance. More action comin... Monday night!

010

DT @dtfrombtown.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

#2000sSongsChampionship Tuesday night we sorted the F*ck Conference which featured one of the more bizarre chapters in the 2000s. Shout out Eamon. Justin scored a place in the 64 with an assist from Timbaland, with "Cry Me a River". Big feelings after breakups were a theme for this bracket. #FURB

DT @dtfrombtown.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

#2000sSongsChampionship Wrapping up the last show before last night, we had an Epic Alternative bracket featuring songs from '06 and '07. This one was up for grabs when the Knights were immediately felled. The Killers took it with their opening single off the Sam's Town record "When You Were Young"

#2000sSongsChampionship Tonight we return with R&B jamz from the early to mid portion of the decade. Then we see what type of lukewarm fare VH1 was serving up. A couple fun ones tonight! Hope to see you there to VOTE on your favorites to go through. #BattleOftheSexes #VideoHits

#SNEScountdown #44 NHL '96. We had some thrills last night as the WHALERS tried to secure their spot in the 1996 Stanley Cup Playoffs. I'm playing some clutch hockey and getting great performances from the likes of Darren Turcotte, Andrew Cassels, and Bryan Glynn. #Chel www.twitch.tv/videos/28780...

#2000sSongsChampionship We had more rappin' with the Air Force One Bracket, by far the deepest conference so far. Lack of appreciation for "Welcome to Atlanta" was tuff. No such lack for Missy Elliot, who swerved past already-in-the-64 jams by Em and 50 to put "Get Your Freak On" in the Big Dance.

#SNEScountdown #44 NHL '96. The eGGregiousness of this low rank was evident from the opening. It was then made so much more foolish with the idea to start a season with the Hartford Whalers. OH MY THE WHALE. The fun with this game is just starting. #TurcotteForHart 🏆 www.twitch.tv/videos/28754...

#SNEScountdown #44 NHL '96. I may yet again have underrated a terrific #SNES Sports title. #EASports set out to the ultimate hockey game with this one and succeeded. Some may prefer others, but for me, this is the one. We'll see how it holds up, tonight on the stream 8:30 PT! ITS IN THE GAME!!!

#2000sSongsChampionship Back tonight as soon as the 🏈 is over. We're doin the Air Force One Conference with more rap tunez from the '02 about times. We're then gonna check out more Epic Alt Rock in the 2nd bracket. Hope you'll come on twitch and VOTE for your favorites! Some real contenders tonight!

DT @dtfrombtown.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

#2000sSongsChampionship We also went into Pop Punk sounds of the early #2000s with the Dickie Shorts Bracket. Sum 41 grabbed it with "Fat Lip" an all-time epic banger IMO. The Blink 182 Hater Society was out in force. Tough scenes for the Kings of the genre. Great to see B-town's MxPx get some love.

#2000sSongsChampionship 'Murica Bracket. First of (many?) country brackets for this competition after only one country bracket in the 90s. I was hoping for a little more enthusiasm for the Chicks. In the end, the very solid pop ballad "Breathe" earns Faith Hill a spot in the 64 song tourney. #Murica

#2000sSongsChampionship Rejuvenation Bracket for artists that perhaps were past their prime but still trying to make things happen. #2000sSongsChampionship The Pop Life Conference Tournament featured an epic battle between Britney and the boys from *NYSNC. The Backstreet Boys' gentle melodies could not break through. Nevermind 98 Degrees or O-Town. Could "Oops! I Did it Again" be Britney's vehicle for another epic tourney ride??

010

#2000sSongsChampionship Major battle TONIGHT between the likes of Britney and NYSNC in the Pop Life Conference then we will check out some artists that peaked in the 70s and 80s but had one more hurrah in the 2000s with the Rejuvenation Bracket. #2000sSongsChampionship The Alternative Awesome bracket showcased epic alt rock songs of the late 2000s. Upsets were the name of the game with scrappy A-Punk getting the W for Vampire Weekend. More action to come next week! #OffandRunning

DT @dtfrombtown.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

#2000sSongsChampionship started off with R&B flavor. Marj J. Blige perhaps predictably took the Holleration 12, despite a stiff opening round battle with upstart Mya. D'angelo took off all his clothes for nuthin. #JanetJacksonCorollary wreaked havoc on Sisqo and the collective pysche of the voters.
