This is Lake Ontario. It will always be called Lake Ontario, despite the president's latest stupid publicity stunt. Lake Ontario gets its name from an Indigenous Iroquoian word meaning "lake of shining waters" or "beautiful lake". I've enjoyed living less than a mile from it most of my life.

Since today is #WorldPhotographyDay. The goal is to inspire photographers across the planet to share a single photo with a simple purpose: to share their world with the world. Since i tend to share a fair amount of photos of deer visiting my yard, this one has always been one of my favorites.

A nice evening for a bike ride to the Port of Rochester and the Charlotte-Genesee Lighthouse. A slight delay returning home waiting for the O'Rorke bridge. They are currently dredging the Genesee River, and the bridge has been raised more frequently than normal for the tugboat.

A wonderful evening of music and stories on Saturday evening with Garnet Rogers. After decades of touring beginning with his brother Stan in the late 70s, Garnet has been doing a farewell tour revisiting the various folk clubs and venues where he has performed over the years.

Tonight's Strawberry Moon. This full Moon will be the lowest full Moon in the sky for nearly two decades: a phenomenon that won’t occur again until 2043. June’s full moon got its name from indigenous tribes that were inspired by the strawberries that ripen and reach their peak this time of year.
