Unfortunately I got put on blast for just pointing out the huge holes in this person's story, especially the gun claim, and ended up having to temporarily shut down my account from the dogpile.

You can still want the industries to improve while recognizing a grifter. I'd argue that calling out this kind of behavior is important because these bad actors make it harder for the legitimate claims to be taken in good faith because people will point to this as to why it shouldn't be believed.

Many of us who called it have worked in film for a long time, and unfortunately these kinds of people aren't that uncommon. Many creative fields require delusions of grandure in order to survive the grind, but it also brings these kinds of people into the industries.

I don't think it can't be true. Based on over 20 years of working on set in film, there's a bunch of things here that don't make sense. I would be saying the same thing regardless of the accuser and accused. It bothers me that so many people seem to just take it at face value as true.

I work in the industry and have had sleezy PAs hired by temp agencies try to blackmail productions, hurting everyone involved. If he's telling the truth, I hope he gets his justice, but if he's looking for a payday due to a failed Hollywood career, I hope he's blacklisted and made an example of.

There are a ton of Hollywood lawyers who would jump at such a slam dunk case. Why did he go with a nobody when the big ones usually work pro bono for a delayed payout from the Studio? Why didn't they take his case?

I am not vouching for Ed. I am just stating that the accuser has made a claim that is easily provable with evidence, and yet over 2 years not a single piece of evidence regarding the gun incident has been mentioned anywhere. And if that is a lie, then why should anyone believe anything else?

A non actor touching a working firearm on set in a huge union production would have created a massive legal headache and a ton of paperwork. That does not just get swept under a rug. Especially after the Rust incident. The main camera op for the series called it BS.

I have worked with plenty of people who have licenses. Every film professional knows you don't bring your gun on set to prevent them getting mistaken for a prop. This is basic set knowledge. It stays in your locker, your car, or you check it in with the armorer.

And if he's found guilty I hope he suffers the social consequences. I just don't buy it based on over 2 decades of working in film. Some stuff could be true, but some of the really outlandish things like the gun don't sound plausible. And if part of it is, it all might as well be.

BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 05/09/2026
How was it not witnessed by the armorer who would have had to clear Ed to touch the gun? And since Ed is not an actor, why was he allowed to leave their sight? That's grounds for the armorer to lose their insurance and job. And why was a writer/producer allowed to touch a gun?

BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 05/09/2026
If this case is such a slam dunk, why is their lawyer a nobody instead of the usual Hollywood ones that love these sorts of cases? They usually take em pro bono because they know the money is there.

How exactly does an abuser pull a working prop gun on someone on set "in private"? This is what the accuser has said happened? If the accuser was being abused, why would they seek out a promotion that would put them into more contact with their abuser?

Thought you were done with me? So much cope. If you looked at my reply, I stated it's not my hand. Nice try though.

Most food photography isn't real to begin with. I've seen stuff airbrush painted, surface baked with an iron, white glue used for milk, and bread harder than concrete on set.

Cam OP says its sus, especially the gun part. He was on set the whole time. Don't take my word for it. Nobody messes with guns on proper large productions.

It's cute you think I'm Ed. I do work in film, but never met the guy. I just think the whole thing is sus and don't trust the accuser. His IMDB is pathetic for the amount of time he's supposedly been in the industry. He's clearly a PA temp jobber looking for a windfall.

It's more that BS sucks so I rarely use it. I also don't post on twitter anymore either. Only open it when an article I read links to it. Most still link to twitter. Notifications are turned off. I'm only seeing replies now because I have it open, so I see the bell light up.

The lawsuit claims Ed pulled a gun on him and pulled the trigger while pointing it at his face. Cam IP says it's bullshit. And if he lied about that, why should we believe anything else?

Sigh, why do people automatically believe some random person's claim.

Elons a loser who will never get the love he seeks from his parents. Same issue as Trump. Has nothing to do with why I post. I just find the puritanical posturing on here amusing.

Exactly. Client is basically pixel fuckin at this point, so might as well see how each of the socials is dealing with the news. BS seems to be the only one jumping on the condemn without evidence train.

I find it fun and troll people on here just as much as I do on twitter. The two platforms are just two sides of the same coin.

I was bored waiting for dailies, so I hopped onto my news feed which linked to Bluesky. Forgot I had an account as I haven't been on here in 2 years. But got quoted by a butthurt soccer mom and had her followers blow up my notifications. Now I'm just killing time at this point.

When people with thousands of follows quote tweet you so your phone vibrates for half an hour while youre trying to work, you do what you gotta do. If what I'm saying is so unimportant, why do people feel the need to interact?

Especially after that. Mind you the issue with Rust was not Baldwin having the gun as he was supposed to, it was the people messing with em during break. But that was also a small film, not a major studio production with more gate keepers on set like Amazon has.

BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
It's farcical to put it that way because it allows you to frame it as a victory regardless of the outcome. If he wins the lawsuit, then you can claim he was right all along, and if he loses, you can just blame the legal system for failing him. The court of public opinion is a joke.

Even a director can't touch a prop, let alone a gun, without a bunch of hurdles to step through for liability reasons, especially insurance. You don't mess with the studios money. Ed would have been booted from any set I've worked on if he did that, even if he is the creator.
100
BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
That's possible. The biggest issue for me is the pulling of the gun. Amazon sets are not tiny indie productions. If something happened as described, even in a joking manner, that set would have been a nightmare of paperwork and legal up everyone's ass.
100
BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
I agree. I don't trust those for him either. I'm just basing it on the highly suspect timing, my experience on high budget film sets, and the massive lack of evidence. The whole thing doesn't pass the smell test. All these supposed witnesses they claim they have didn't say a thing?
100
BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
Worked on over 50 film sets. Not once has an armorer allowed someone to touch a firearm that wasn't about to use it to shoot a scene. A random producer does not just grab a gun and point it at someone. If that had happened on set, all kinds of paperwork would have been required to be filed.

BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
And one of the posters who said "I've heard about this since 99" had to be pointed out that based on his profile, he was 10 then, and that Ed was an unknown mostly until his Eisner in 2007. Rumor and hearsay on a social media platform is not believable.

Cool. Give him his day in court. If Brubaker's guilty, destroy him. Couldn't care less. But the fact he's flown under the radar for over 20 years with nothing being done until now means I don't buy the timing of this lawsuit. If it was so bad, why wait until right before the release?
100
BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
He's been in comics, film and TV for over 20 years. If he's managed to fly under the radar this long without a whisper, he's a unicorn.

I never post on here, only reply, and most of the time can't be bothered as this platform is no different than Twitter in terms of echo chambers. I can't wait for people to eat crow when this whole grift gets thrown out.

As someone who has worked with an Amazon division, they have the money, but they aren't interested in flies. They just pay you to go away.

BS001 @dstinct.bsky.social · 04/09/2026
The legal system is so broken that people can and do exploit it. No where in the lawsuit do they mention a single police report or any physical corroborating evidence other than witnesses who have never mentioned this happening to anyone.
