Inspired by the six printed 2x2 curved corner plates in the August LEGO® Speed Champions set 77263 BMW M3 (E30), Tom Loftus put them to use as the robot eyes they obviously are. See the Ice version in his review! www.newelementary.com/2026/09/revi...

Maybe, the song also needs to be boring because you are facing a "boring" part of the story and the game wants you to feel the time passing (though I think this is a rare to find in a game). So slow tempo and little variance are crucial in this case.

010

dst212 @dst212.github.io · 10/09/2026

Yeah, designing music for games isn't easy at all and they're completely different from commercial music because it's basically loops. Variance is important but you also need to keep the mood consistent.

110

dst212 @dst212.github.io · 10/09/2026

Also, 3.5 minutes for a song today is a lot, most songs are less than 3 I believe.

110

dst212 @dst212.github.io · 10/09/2026

While some orchestra operas from 200 years ago last like hours (idk again not an expert but I know composers liked creating long stuff) with single pieces that lasted no less than 15 minutes. Today music is focused on providing dopamine to the listener rather than let them appreciate it.

010

dst212 @dst212.github.io · 10/09/2026

Yes, tho music hasn't always been the same over the centuries. Excluding outliers, songs were MUCH longer long ago. Now commercial music has to go straight to the chorus because it has to go viral and last enough to not make you get sick of it (therefore no more than 3.5/4 minutes and this sucks).

210

dst212 @dst212.github.io · 10/09/2026

Also, 2/4 bars, not pulses. I'm bad at English.

010

dst212 @dst212.github.io · 10/09/2026

Not a music expert, and maybe commercial music actually follows that pattern (the slower the tempo, the longer the song), but I doubt it. There should be some datasets online with enough data on enough songs to make some statistics, tho.

110

dst212 @dst212.github.io · 10/09/2026

Not really. The length of a song depends not only on the tempo, but on the structure (verses, choruses, bridge, if there's a post/pre-chorus... etc) and on the rhythm (whether it's binary or ternary) as well. Often, a whole line of a verse is either 2 or 4 pulses, so it also depends on that.

The Cat Righting Reflex is the official name of the process cats use to automatically correct themselves mid-fall and land on their feet. It develops between 3 - 9 weeks of age, and is responsible for the greatest wikipedia gif of all time.

Idk, maybe someone on reddit did the math. I believe it would be even bigger than a house, though, given it's a literal planet and minifigs are 4cm tall so around 1:45 scale if I'm not mistaken.
