This poses the Dunning-Kruger question. Is he smart enough to know he is stupid, or not? Regardless, his defining characteristics are his self-promotion and lack of morals. Or, as Jeffrey Epstein described the Pedo, "evil beyond belief," "none as bad as Trump," and "not one decent cell in his body".

Could be blackmail payments, but otherwise, Pedo giving money to someone else without receiving anything in return seems unlikely. I think it is both YOLO and a desire to grab as much money and power as he can and keep it for as long as he can. Like Smaug, he wants to sit on his pile of treasure.
