Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I'm confused about the appeal of The Magicians. I found the show before the books and I was mostly really annoyed at everything. The characters sucked, the school was awful (as usual), and it seemed like the only good thing was the one gay guy. 110

Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 04/10/2026I asked a nurse practitioner if she preferred Dr. So-and-so, but she demurred and I couldn't tell if that was a genuine preference or a gender/heirarchy thing. 010

Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I was working at Wold Market and a customer wanted some gender but we were out. They called the manager who offered them mine as a floor model. After that I just had to scrape something together from the break room. 011

It's partly a commentary on reading as a hobby, part romance, and part mysterious intrigue--all set with a certain amount of humor. It was a surprising read for bedtime stories with my partner, and I wanted to share it. 000

Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Overall the festival was fun, though we didn't have much money to support artists, and my partner isn't into spicy stuff like I am. Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 13/09/2026And she kept going on about how "little girls" took other cute ones, but "little boys" only went for the poop. The council candidate and I shared a look and she apologized, embarrassed, "She's just noticing patterns, but she does not realize where we are." It led to a good talk about my pronouns. 6/ 100
Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Earlier my partner and I were talking with a metro council candidate who was queer. Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Someone, might've been Doc Impossible, was saying how moderate liberal folk view transness via the Benjamin scale: it's some sort of benign insanity. Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 13/09/2026They were perfectly well meant, and the sentiment was similar to trans discourse, but it felt off. Maybe because they centered it around this idea of life being hard instead of joyful, but they made it sound like a disability. 3/ 100
Josiah/Jessie Roberts @dryctarth.bsky.social · 13/09/2026My first thought was, "Me! I would!" And my second thought was how that would mean I was still trans, making a choice to transition.
