Vet day yesterday. Bribing him helped...

My cat Gizmo, shoving his head entirely into a bag of Greenies (cat treats).

Just felt like learning how to knit stripes this weekend. #craftsky #knitting #knit

Top view of a blue and white striped swatch in a mix of garter and stockinette.

Side view of the same swatch appears to spell out "FUCK ICE"

Sometimes you just gotta do what you just gotta do. "Pan de Ybor", aka the original Cuban bread recipe, except for the palmetto fronds. I used a razor. These small loaves make the most AMAZING sandwiches. #baking #bread #cubanbread

3 small loaves of freshly baked homemade Cuban bread cooling, the recipe of which is technically native to Florida. I like to call mine Pan de Ybor.

3 more loaves cooling, for a total of 6. I will freeze them until ready for eating.

I have a pattern in my brain. I know it's a plaid - a really big plaid. Drapy! The dream said it's a skirt, but I can also see it as a strapless dress. it's amazeballs. Have 24" RHL and 44" WWL. What fiber would one recommend? HELP PLEASE #weaving #rigidheddle #warpweightedloom #craftiverse

There are tons of mistakes, I had to do a lot of repair work, and I'm already making notes on improvements, but for a proto-type/experiment, I'm calling it my first wearable weave!

Black, short-sleeved "shrug" woven on a rigid heddle loom. The material is #10 crochet cotton and was woven as single warp with a 7.5 dent reed, double weft tabby with single rows of leno lace, producing an airy, lacy weave.

Do I really need to say it? #chillax

My favorite terrorist (aka cat) Gizmo in full chill mode, all curled up on his condo platform except for the one arm stretched out because, yeah. Chill.

I couldn't help myself.

Rigid Heddle Loom single-warped with black #10 crochet cotton in a 7.5 dent heddle (very, very loose sett). Mix of double-weft tabby and leno rows.

As someone with depressive disorder to begin with, sometimes it's hard to know if you're in a depression. I know I'm tired of all this. My cat sustains me now.

*Actually* finished a WIP (out of many). Now I have empty craft syndrome.

A red cotton crochet openwork "T-shirt" pinned to the blocking boards. The upper portion has very short sleeves, a scoop neck. The bottom section is a large border of "suspended diamonds".

Recycling/reusing more surplus cat wheel wood to make cat shelves for the walls. I ran out of clamps for the rug. Whatever works. #caturday #upcycle #recyclereuse #catio

Two 1/2x6" boards with rug glued to the tops. Each board has a mixture of clamps and bag clips securing the rug, along with a 1 lb hand weight on the middle section.

Way too many posts of people losing their furbabies today. Why couldn't it have been the orange toddler?

Help? I need ideas for upcycling/reusing this big tin of olive oil (empty now). I have some tools but probably not the right ones, although that never stopped me. Pics very welcome. #upcycle #reuse #recycle #wastecraft #craftsky #environment

Can my knitting people help me out here? I just cannot hold the left needle without propping it outward against my belly. Holding it any other way is awkward and I can't hold the stitches steady. Suggestions? I knit continental, if that helps.

My knitting position: the right needle is sideways and does all of the stabbing and throwing work. The left needle is braced against my stomach and pointed out and away from me.

TMW you're depressed because you're feeling so alone and lonely, but too depressed to go do anything about it.

Just got critter talky buttons from chewy. I've prepped 3. One is Ball (throw the paper ones), one is Food (obvious) and one is Treat (also obvious). I've forgone placing them side by side in favor of putting them in associative places so he can get context. Rest in comments.

I think I'm going to like this. Playing with twisted stitches. #knitting #fiberarts 🧶

Red cotton yarn on a knitting needle. The pattern is basically stockinette, but the stitches are deliberately twisted.

If you hate me for this, you simply don't understand. Perhaps you haven't been there, but I have. When you can't buy food, you do not GAF about insurance. I get it. I agree. But the kids don't. We will come back, ONE BATTLE at a time.

This is now my official response to everything related to right wing politics:

A picture of a wild cat making a "face" while the caption reads, "When someone tells you something so profoundly stupid that your brain crashes and has to restart."

My cat thoroughly snuggled up under a jersey pillow case. Nothing is showing but an ear and a tail curl.

Stolen from a FB post. Historical plate. "Do NOT touch my spinning tools!" (or my scissors) #spinning #fiberarts #history

Appears to be a bronze plate or shallow bowl. The header reads, "'Plate with Wife Beating Husband' Dinant, Belgium, 1480ce" The image depicts a woman sitting on a man's back. She is holding a hand-broom or batch of switches in the air, aimed at his bared buttocks. He looks confused as to why he is being beaten. He is on all fours, but in his hands he holds a niddy-noddy and a drop spindle. To the left of the is a floor distaff.
