Altair’s story is this: Altair is a lesser god, and leads the stars protecting them etc, he falls in love with the goddess of the moon and confesses to her, she rejects him and when she does he starts getting sloppy at his job so he is banished to earth and replaced by Nova a new goddess of stars.
