Oh yeah, I remember blockchain, those were the days. Dont forget those cherished moments where all our pensions were invested in 'big data' too.

Popcorn ready for a evening of fun watching a public firing squad execution? Sure, Americans are normal, civilised people. Right? RIGHT? Is the orange lunatic and his tipsy weirdo secretary of testosterone going to make it pay-per-view on Trump TV? Could be another moneyspinner for him.

Why in Zeus's underpants is she invited to be interviewed on national media any more. Her opinions and weird trajectory should surely render her obsolete for all but the most extreme crackpot. Ferrari should know better.

Welfare needs reform. Restrictions on what the card will allow is ridiculous. Do the Tories really think that the card holder wont have a companion who will exchange cash for the purchase at the point of sale or nearby, if they want to buy cigs and booze? @shelaghfogarty.bsky.social

Cheapest petrol local to me is £1.75PL. And the BBC and Laura K spend prime time about a book by a person hardly anyone knows, and most people dont like, which discusses pointless stuff about a woman who has been dead for decades.

So its not all doom and gloom. Mercifully most major attacks get caught or are innoculated against before they cause major damage. We only hear about the major ones which cause major disruption.

Older ransomware techniques were somewhat isolated and targeted and used 'in-house' computing power. This is shifted now with so much cloud resources. There is also an army or companies like mine, and very sophisticated start-ups who are using the same techniques to combat the bad guys

Individually, basic machines and agents are lightweight. The massive need for data centres is because of scale and for LLMs.
010
Richard Morris @drunkenbakers.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
like a human needs to authenticate. The agents are beefed up lines of code like the machines but which use LLMs to operate somewhat independently, but they are still just lines of code with an identity.

Richard Morris @drunkenbakers.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
Its incredible dull for the most part. A 'machine' is basically line (s) of code which instructs one process to do another that once a human did. The problems occur because they have to be granted permissions to access data and therefore need passwords or tokens etc so they need governance just

They are all programs operating on a server, yes. Technically these machines can copy themselves to wherever they want assuming there's connectivity, sufficient computing power and understanding of different languages and/or APIs.

Another wealth 'creator' bitching about the country in which that wealth was created, by thousands of people who each paid tax at +45%, who fucked off to a tax haven to pay 0% when he was paying less than 20% in the first place. For all the goodness of free market capitalism, this is warped.

Richard Morris @drunkenbakers.bsky.social · 19/09/2026
I work in top end cyber security, in a business which governs AI agents and other 'machines'. Nobody truly has a handle on this. Don't forget, nobody 'needs' to create these computer identities; although they are now creating themselves, but they can still be discovered. And there's always a plug

And now the OP has blocked me for challenging the notion that moderates are Nazi far-right sympathisers, or something. FFS is the world stark raving mad? This post needs sharing if anyone can see it now and these people need to have a long hard think and wonder why they want to alienate so much.

Richard Morris @drunkenbakers.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
So the angry weirdo has blocked me for being MODERATE, and for saying I agree with them on Gaza. The final words were blocking block blocked. And they call me a coward. I just hope everyone can see this. Jesus.

What?! Firstly nobody lashed out, I stated that I abhore a murderous regime when you'd assumed wrongly that I support it. Secondly, calling me a coward does your cause no good. You've no idea about my views or what I support, and you belong on Twitter with the other unreasonable idelogues

Plus a massive injection into the economy at this scale, as people would inevitable spend it, would cause a huge inflationary spike. Even if it were carried through, which it wont and he knows it because they are almost certain to lose one or both houses, it is economically unfunded and bonkers
