there are plenty of distros out there that are good for beginners. Also, there are a ton of great educational videos coming out right now teaching about how to switch to Linux step by step.

I want to tell you, that you have options if your pc isn't supported and your pc is not trash, so don't go throwing it away, or let it be vulnerable due to no security updates. You can switch to a Linux distribution (distro for short). If you are scared of Linux...

Remind to Windows 10 people, you have until October 14th to upgrade to Windows 11 before security updates are pulled. I am very spicy about this as 40% of users are still on Windows 10. Me included, as my pc was built 10 years ago. It runs Cyberpunk 2077, but it can't run Windows 11 apparently...

Doing some basic Wikipedia research, this "feature" is BD-Live. It allows online content to be viewed from the disc as far as I can tell. Like games, trailers, etc. But I guess it's used now to collect your viewing data since god forbid companies can't collect their sweet sweet analytics 24/7

So I purchased a physical copy of 28 Years Later. Great movie. But what did I see pop up on my TV before I could play the movie? A terms of service agreement for user data collection... On a physical blue ray disc! What the hell! @rejectconvenience.com have you looked into this every?

Frieren is paced very well. You really feel the time passing as you watch it. I think that was the intention given the themes of the story.

DrTrog @drtrog.bsky.social · 09/09/2025

Why is it that when my refrigerator isn't running, I don't get prank calls asking if my refrigerator is running.

I've pretty much just reverted to listening to ost stuff because of this exact issue.

This is a reminder that you should tell the people that you care about that they matter. You'd be amazed how often the response will be "thank you, I really needed that right now".

Every time a comment makes me double check something in the Eight Sleep privacy policy, I throw up in my mouth a little. You want to read an actually gross privacy policy? Read Eight Sleep's, they're awful! Who could have guessed a mattress company might be shady? Huh! That's NEVER happened before.

DrTrog @drtrog.bsky.social · 02/08/2025

I think the scary part is this is obfuscated by other companies using this company. How many of these companies use other companies with concerning privacy policies? It's such a rabbit hole.

Experimenting with making a sonic boom effect. Thoughts? I feel like the path needs work, but the rings are pretty decent.
